There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Fenders

I am thinking of removing the rear fender and using EVO-Ken's brake light relocator kit. I was also wondering if anyone knows of anyone that is making new front fenders for Spydie...something minimalist and cool looking?

I was looking at a bare front fender today, seems the channel in the middle would be for strength and the plastic diverter at the bottom to channel water away during wet conditions, especially with turns. I could see re-mounting the front marker lights on a shortened fender, but would worry about stones picked up by the tires and tossed back to me if the fenders got too short. Opening up the rear fender to show the BA wide tire would be great, but again I'd worry about water stripes on my back in the rain.
I saw one post on the board where the front fenders were absent. Looked pretty cool. He might be a good source of info about stones or water being tossed back on the rider. I can't remember where it is, but could be under catagory of engine modifications and horsepower/torque boost.

You thinking of these pics...

That's EVO-Ken's Spyder. I ordered his license plate relocation kit tonight as I am definitely going to remove the rear fender for now.

Yup, that's it. Looking at the rear tire again... I think that fender with the dealers billboard decal (that wasn't supposed to be applied!) could easily be sacrificed. With the brake light relocated it should be good to go. As much as I like the look without the front fenders, I 'll have to wait for feedback. I like the idea of lights out there for visability, but then maybe the fog lights would let people see you as well.

Another thread "Polished" has pics of his without the rear fender. Very uncluttered look. I too am going to wait on the front fenders but I have the fog lights installed and run them full time. Lots of light from the front so I am not concerned with removing the front fender/fender lights.

Thanks for the close up of the fog lights. It would be hard to miss something with that many lights comming towards you, so those should help. I couldn't tell if those block a functional air duct to the radiator though, but I'm sure the manufacturer wouldn't offer an accessory that would be a source of a problem. Keeping them on all the time would also be good idea, to the point that it might be worthwile just wireing them to the main lights and forget the switch and wireing there.

The more I look at the front of the Spyder the more I want to put wider wheels and tires and bigger fenders. That's going to be one of my projects this year for sure. :doorag:

I love the look without fenders. Mine will be coming off as soon as the bike comes in.

I was also curious about wider rims or offset spacers. A little wider track "might" help reduce the chance of the nanny systems kicking in on hard cornering.
