Federal and Kumho experience on front ???

I find several comments, both pro and con, about the Federal EVOs for the front, the main one seeming to be breaking loose on wet pavement.

What about the Kumho Solus 155R60/15? Anyone run them enough yet to have a solid opinion one way or the other?

I haven't had any trouble with the Federal's - as long as I have tread on the rear tire

Had the Kumho Solus tires mounted and road force balanced 19,000 miles ago. Still have plenty of tread left. No issues with them at all.

change my '14' to a '15', and use all the other info.... the 175's worked out fabulous for me... they also have a 740 or 840 rating, which translates to around 100,000 miles.....

I have 35,000 miles on my original front tires so have no problem with them. Not yet ready to replace them. The rear is a different story as have replaced it 4 times. the last is a car tire so will see.

I'm not familiar with road force balancing. Is that using a roller to apply pressure to the tire while it's spinning? Is that a somewhat new procedure for tire shops?

Sounds kind of like what used to be done 50 years ago, spin balance the tire while mounted on the car. Analog meter showed the degree of unbalance and a strobe flashed so the mechanic could see what part of the tire was at the bottom where the downward movement was greatest.

Yep, force via roller applied to tire while it's spinning on the balance machine. Don't know if it's new or not but do know not all tire shops in my neck of the woods offer it.

Just turned 22k 2014 RTL with original fronts will be replacing with same.
