Fault Codes

Being that I'll have my new ride within the next couple of days, I saw somewhere that someone posted all the fault codes, and what they meant. Could someone please point me to that thread/post so I have that on hand for future reference? Hopefully I won't have to deal with a fault code, but better to be prepared and know what the bloody numbers are that do happen to come up. I am guessing that the fault codes are the same across all three platforms of Spyders?

If you go to www.midwestmanuals.com you can select the Service Manual for your Spyder. This manual includes all the Fault Codes w/ explanations. In fact, there may be too much information for most of us. Price is very reasonable and it is instantly downloadable upon purchasing.

I copied & pasted the above from another thread posting. I don't recall ever seeing ALL of the fault codes posted on the forum, do to the simple fact there are hundreds. We have the MidWest Manual & it does list them all out, what it involves, and what to check, so a very good resource to have. Also here's another copy & paste Teddy found about using the search feature here on SpyderLovers. Odds are, if you DO get a fault code, you won't be the first and it has most probably been posted here before.

I just did a search for "codes" and got back 495 threads. "Fault codes" brings up 273 threads. If the fault code you are looking for has been mentioned you can search for that specific code and that works pretty good. "P0504" results in 11 threads to look through.


I know this isn't the answer you wanted, but its the best we can provide for you. As stated, WE DO have the repair manual, so you can always PM us with a particular fault code and we can easily look it up for you ​

You're getting an RS S; right?
(The procedures for pulling up the codes varies from model to model)


With ignition switch on (or engine running) press MODE button repeatedly until "engine hours" (total hours) shows on display.
Press and hold MODE button while pushing the "flash high beams" button five times within 2 seconds.
If there are no active faults "No Active Fault Code" will be displayed.
If there is an active fault, an alphanumeric code will be displayed. This can be looked up in the shop manual (available on CD) or you can ask on SpyderLovers and someone will look it up for you.
If there is more than one active code, you may press MODE to cycle through them.
I believe this procedure is in your manual.

I now have both and wish my GS had the SE trans........It's just throttle on and go........But don't forget the PARKING BRAKE I'm not kidding.......and carry a couple a sticks as back-up, may sound silly but I think Bumblebee67 would agree.......Mike...:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Not sure what model this sequence applies to but it does not work on a 2011 RSS.
