• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Fastest 0-60 times on a Spyder...

I know the Spyder GS/RS is 0-60 mph in 4.5 out of the box...no idea what the RT is but I'll assume it's slower due to it's size and engine config.

Anyway, what's the fastest 0-60 anyone has clocked a Spyder at, regardless of mods?

:2thumbs::firstplace:

:agree: Let me know when you do it--that way I will know how fast my :spyder2: can make it to 60.

What's the best way to time yourself, anyway? I'd love to find out mine (have 2Bros Exhaust and Juicebox Pro), but I don't have an extra hand to hold a stopwatch while accelerating as fast as possible. Plus, I like to watch the road, more than the speedo.

Best so far for me is 4.1.
Will break the 4 barrier someday!

As we met in MO, I will state that you've got the 'traction asset':D. The CHAD adds a huge amount of wind resistance to bike. Assuming your runs were made with the CHAD mounted:
1. Remove the CHAD and go back to the stock windscreen.
2. Minimize your body exposure, tuck down as low as possible while maintaining control.
3. If that don't do it, go with the Evo high compression pistons and new camshafts. No turbo lag at launch. Use your traction asset.

Bet you'll have the 4 flat!

That's fast enough for me...figured I was sitting close to that with the JB, green filter, and hindle...of course, it's all up to the shifting as well...power gears to get you to 60 quickly would have to be 2nd to 3rd, no?

I've done a track a few runs back before I did much to the Spyder---- then I bought a Veypor II and use that for timing my runs --- pretty accurate. You can have it time from the second you accelerate (but that's cheating) -- or from a signal tree on the screen of the unit......

----------

Yup--- wind resistance, traction and takeoff are everything.....

0-60 running 1st - 2nd - 3rd gear only.... and no clutch use after takeoff.....

paul we should race, I think mine is about 4ish to 60. My 60 foot times in bir are 2.2 secondsish, needs to be at 1.8.

seriously. lets go for a quick jaunt, should have been at BIR on saturday, was a great 4 laps.

on a side note, have you been to all those states on your spyder? I swear I would have seen you on the road then?

Hey, Seth. We met at SpyderFest this past April in MO - fun time.

I've been through all of those states in the last 6 years on a motorcycle, but not a Spyder. SpyderDeb's sig shows the number of states on her Spyder. We're in pursuit of the New England states and Canada some time this year.

Extremes have been: Brownsville/South Padre Island, TX; Northome, MN; the Salton Sea, CA; Red Lodge, MT; Niagra Falls, NY; Hartwell, GA.

p.s. The only states I haven't been in by any mode of transportation are Alaska, New Hampshire, Oregon and Idaho.

ic, I do remember you, the damn staties showed up and ruined the fun right when we were going to race. I sent you a pm, we should meet up and ride some twisties, if you come up here I will buy you lunch and if I come down there we should have jim from IA come up. I have a pretty good deal up here on public track time.....

to get faster - the most urgent mod is to change the rear tire .. since I use a good car-tire (Fulda-carat-extremo) its unbeleivable better with "grip" - ... (think my RT is around the same now like my ex-Gs)

Seth,

If anyone around here should have 0-60 times, it should be you, with all the racing you do...can you get an accurate read some time out at the flats?

if its on the slip I will get it, I remember timing some of my youtube videos to 60 but it is hard to say if there was tire slip when I hit it. I will check and post.
