There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fashion advice needed...Mixing fabric type of riding clothing (leather & non-leather)

Hey ya'll. I just ordered my first pair of good quality brown-ish & black-ish distressed leather chaps and vest. I have a black leather jacket and a gray mesh Joe Rocket jacket, but neither will match the chaps color-wise (or fabric wise if mesh jacket) exactly. I thought of ordering a leather jacket which matches the chaps pretty much to a "T", but being a single father of two kids for the past 12 years kinda takes a toll on the whole free spending. And I thought of waiting and ordering closer to next Fall, but being in the mid west, you never know when a cool front may hit. Now, if I have to, I'll wear either jacket just to be warm and safe...I don't care what others think in those cases.
So, anyone want to chime in and say how it "is" or "is not" a cool fashion statement to wear a non-leather jacket with leather chaps and/or different color leathers together? :helpsmilie:

I do care how I look, but not so much I'm a vain person. :doorag: My daughter helps me with things like this, but she's not riding yet and this is one of the nice points of having a good wife...help you get dressed regardless of what a man does...LOL!!! :roflblack: I've attached the chaps and mesh jacket. You already know what a basic black riding jacket looks like.

Ride with what ever you have, but ride. Preferably ATGATT. Anyone who cares more about whether your clothes match, than the ride, is not worth knowing, let alone riding with.
Just ride,
Roger

Are you one of those people who actually say- Do these chaps make me look fat?:joke:

By the way, I took a look at your occupation, and I never met one that tried to match anything; you must be a first.;) I'm talking male now, not female.

Good luck with whatever clothing you select for your next ride.

When you go by, with a HUGE grin on your face; nobody is going to notice what you were wearing...
It's about what the clothing does for you: (protect you in the event of an accident. nojoke).
Getting home to your kids, is all that matters!
There's a wise saying bouncing around in here:
"Dress for the slide; NOT for the ride!" :2thumbs:

Since Wyliec mentioned it, I had to look at your profession, too. I think you're like me and may overanalyze things. But I can understand the urge to look good, no matter what.

But like others have said, just ride. When you have some cash then buy the jacket to match your chaps, or new black chaps. Then sell you old gear.

I normally don't try to color match when I get dressed BUT from time to time my wife will throw in a remark on how could I wear certain colors together. It makes me more self concous. I have also learned that Cognac is the hardest color to dress to.:roflblack:

BTW, black and grey are the safest to wear.

Do as I do...keep it simple

Make sure exposed body parts are covered and that is all you need to know and do...yep keep it simple!!!

Curious. ....

If you just ordered those chaps....why didn't you order them in black to match your jackets...:dontknow: Now as to what to do..go for comfort and temp (warm or cool) From what I see running around today , both male and female, it doesn't matter. Seems the most important thing is where you bought it... not wearing my clothes insideout with the lable flapping in the breeze I don't care. Besides once you arrive you take your jacket off anyway then you look chic....

Maybe a leather dye that can get them to a closer match. Of course, I agree, If someone doesn't like it, kiss my a$$. UNLESS it's your wife/SO then always listen and OBEY:yes::yes::yes:

I always try to wear anything "pink". Girls always get the right of way and never get issued tickets!
:joke:

Fashionista here... The fact there's grey/black in the chaps means it will work with the jacket. When socializing, unzip the jacket to show the chap-matching vest. Styling... If it's cold enough for chaps, it's cold enough for a vest.

Biker chick here... First thought is to stay warm. Chaps are my go to leg warmers. I now have a textile jacket and still wear my leather chaps. Luv 'em!

Trust your daughter, she knows what she's talking about...
