• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Family friend traveling from washington state to Alaska having problem in route

They just bought a 2011 Can Am RSS, SE5 and left for Alaska the following morning after buying. He made it to Prince Rupert through rain and is having troubles with it not always starting. Temp in low 50s. Any advice, screen doesn't go dark, he is pushing down brake to start. He is a skilled motorcycle Ryder.

If you leave the bike in gear when you turn it off it won't start (won't even turn over) unless you press the brake pedal. Have them make sure they shift into neutral before turning the bike off. Then it will start after turning the key, pressing the mode button and then the start button.

Need more info. It sometimes starts, but sometimes doesn't? What does that mean exactly, that he has to hit the start button more than once and then it fires right up?

Not sure why you would mention he is a skilled rider.

Does he know how old the battery is? Does he have service records? That’s a pretty big leap of faith to head to AK on a 7 year old bike that you’ve only had for a day. I hope random starting issues are his worst problem.

They are on the road ...

New battery - when they can

Meantime

- check and double check tightness of battery connections, and

- hook it onto a trickle charger every overnight. Should get them through the trip.

Hope they have a great trip

I will add: Dealers: Whitehorse Yukon Territory, and One in AK. Team CC (Two locations)--Eagle River and Wasilla AK. No longer a dealer in Anchorage.
