I had our Spyders 600 mile service done yesterday. The mechanic showed me a Can Am Roadster service bulletin( number 2008-5 dated May 16, 2008) and copied it for me.
Some oil filters designated as Spyder filters may be the incorrect filter. Due to a packaging error, oil filters for other engine apps may have been delivered labeled and boxed as Spyder (P/N 420 956/745).
The difference is easy to see. The Spyder filter will have one end cap closed and a grommet at the other end. The Seadoo filter will be open at both ends plus will have grommets at both ends.
Lastly, the correct Spyder oil filter will have the number RB-X341 on the end of the filter
The incorrect Seadoo filter will be stamped with the number RB-X 347
Those of you who have purchased filters, please check before use !!!
