There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. F4 Custom F3Limited Review

50+ years of riding and I have had a couple of bird strikes but not like the one today on my F3-S that I have been running "naked" without a windshield. The bird hit square in the middle of my face shield at about 65 mph and I knew that it was too big a thud to be a bug although we do have very large flying bugs in Florida. I stopped to stretch my legs and could not put my visor up.

Lo and behold, I found this sad sight as I laid my helmet on my seat. Guess I am going to have to think of getting a windshield?

I'm 5' - 11" and just ordered the 21" clear vented. Not satisfied with BRP Tall Boy. I do not want to look through the windshield. Don said to mount it without taking off the plastic wrap and if I don't like it I can exchange it. I'll let you know how it turns out.

So I installed it today. Very easy. As in the video I only peeled back enough plastic to expose the 4 mounting holes. Test drive at 65 mph with no issues. relatively quiet. Air flow at shoulders was about 9" wide of body. Air flow over top of head. No buffeting. Easy to adjust vent while riding. As I stated 5'-11" with 32" inseam and would not want it an inch taller! I look about 2" above the windshield. I did bend down to look through the shield and there is no distortion.

Sooo I have a slightly used BRP Tall Boy windshield for sale. Excellent condition with mounting brackets and bolts. $200.00 if anyone is interested.

Thanks Rick....that's is very informative. If you have time, could you do one more measurement for me? What's the distance from the seat at your crotch to your eyes. I do need to get this right before I order as shipping costs are horrendous out to Australia, (and even more horrendous from Australia to the US) so I don't want to have to return it if I can avoid it.

Peter,
28 and 1/2 inches from crotch on seat to my eyes.
26 and 3/4 inches from crotch on seat to the top of the shield (used a 4 foot level :ohyea:). So @ 5'-11" my eyes are approximately 2 inches above the 21" windshield.

Measuring from the small flat area between the instrument cluster and the handlebar assembly the height of the shield is 19 and 3/4 inches.

Brilliant.....thanks for taking the time to do that, Rick. Looks like I'll need the 25" to look over the top by a couple of inches.

I'll see how the 2016 stock lipped and vented F3 Limited screen goes on my trip home from the dealers, when I finally get to pick it up, but I can't imagine it will do the job for me.......waiting....waiting......waiting:coffee:
