F3T Seat Comfort

I test rode an F3 a year ago with the up graded seat. (8 Ball?) Found it quite comfortable, but of course I was only on the front and the ride was less than one hour. I am mainly wondering how comfortable the seat on the stock F3T is? I could live with the stock non upgraded front. Primarily concerned about my wife on the rear.

On most separate seats, the passenger pillion is definitely second class compared to the driver position. Not sure how that will play out on the F3T though. :dontknow:

I found the F3 Limited seat to be very comfortable for me. I am not sure if it is the exact same seat as the T. My wife also thought the passenger seat felt pretty good. The one we rode already had the passenger backrest installed. This was only a 5 or 6 mile test ride so 300 miles might be a completely different story.

I second this. My F3 Limited is the first bike ever that I wasn't looking to change the seat on. It is ridiculously comfortable.

I realize you're primarily interested in comments about the passenger seat, sorry, I can't offer anything about it since I never ryde two up.

However, I must say the driver's seat on my 2016 F3-Limited SS is the most UNcomfortable motorcycke seat I've every sat on. I cannot ryde more than an hour without serious discomfort. There seems to be three "hot spots" that are particularly bothersome; the ischium area, both sides, and the prostate area. The Ischium forms the lower and back part of the hip bone. When sittin, the body weight falls on the Ischium. I've only put a little over 2k miles on my F3-L since Jan 26th, it's just not fun to ryde when your butt hurts. I averaged over 15k per year on my previously owned Spyder RTs.

I have a Russell Day Long seat on order. Unfortunately for me they are really busy this time of year so my seat won't go into production until 31 May and not received until mid to late June. Looking forward to ryding in comfort the second half of this year.

Hi,
You can order a Comformax Classic TR Med or Med Large Motorcycle foam/Gel pad (1/2"" thick Memory foam/1/2" Gel).
Put it over your stock 2016 F3T seat when you ride, very comfy; (until you get your Russell seat in 2 months).

My wife and I took a very short test ride today. We will not be trading for an F3T anytime soon. The seat was not that comfortable, especially for the passenger. I had also been wondering about an aftermarket seat like the dual tour saddle from Corbin, but they finally responded to my e-mail inquiry today; they do not currently make a saddle for the F3T.

Maybe, just maybe, if there had been a backrest for her, she may have enjoyed it more, but she also had discomfort in her legs. It looks like the foot pegs/floor boards are not adjustable as we are accustomed to on our RT. The other thing that shocked me was the very limited storage. The Frunk is very small as are the saddlebags.

Sorry to ramble on, the only way to know for sure is to bring the wife with you on a test ride. Good Luck!

The RT and the F 3 T are completely different beasts . What the F 3 lacks in carry storage in made up for in lower center of gravity and the pegs are adjustable . We have the passenger backrest and my lady has no complaints ..... Life is good :ohyea:

Their existing dual seat should fit.

The pillion part is raised about 2" higher than the oem seat and has thicker padding. I found it extremely comfortable, where I can only sit on the standard seats (as rider or passenger) for about 30 minutes.

The rider's seat is set 3" further back and only has 1 1/2" foam under your butt. We sent ours back to be remanufactured and and should have it back in a couple of weeks. We are having it set forward an extra 1 1/2" with an extra 1 1/2" of seat cushioning, at no extra cost.

The passenger backrest does make a lot of difference.

I asked Corbin directly about the F3T and the response was "the seat that we have won't fit the touring model. We will be coming out with one, but I don't have a time frame on that."
I had also called the Florida showroom earlier yesterday. They told me the same thing and thought it was am interference with the saddle bag brackets.

If you want a comfortable seay for you both, get in touch with Russel All Day Seats. They custom fit your seat based on your weight, riding position, etc. I have owned several and the name "All Day Seat" really fits

The Limited SS seat must be different because I couldn't imagine changing it for anything better.

Not sure the seat on the F3-L SS is different from any other F3 seat other than asthetics. I think what's different is us i.e., people's anatomy. HalBikerDoc in Florida rydes his F3-L SS on iron butt rydes which is really an endurance run and impossible, in my mind, if the seat was uncomfortable for him. Again people are different, what's comfortable for one is torture for another. For me, the seat on my F3-L SS is torture, with emphasis on ME.
