• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3s FAN NOISE - Really Loud

I was driving around Belle Chasse, La. (the town I live in) which isn't very big and my wife and I were feeling hot from the sun as it was a nice but hot day (81 or 82 degrees). After about 20 or 30 min.s of riding we came up to a time-saver store and idled the bike while getting off and this loud noise came from the bike which sounded like a fan which was super loud. I assumed it was a cooling fan on the radiator since this is a water cooled engine but was really surprised it was soooo loud. I'm fairly new with the bike since I just got it March 30th but I've only rode it about 5 times. If anyone knows about this fan noise and if its normal to be soooo loud then please let me know. Its got me worried some what. :opps:;) Thanks

I believe your fans are the same as the RTs in which case what you heard is they are are running backward when you are stopped, blowing air forward away from your extremeties and across the radiators.

:agree:
Keep in mind while you are moving at a reasonable clip, I don't remember how fast, when the fan comes on it is drawing air through the radiators, pulling it in and exhausting it behind you.

When you are parked or moving below the minimum speed, when the fan comes on it is pushing air into and through the radiators. This compressed or forced air is going to cause some harmonization through the baffles in the radiator. This is meant to keep you from getting hot feet, so enjoy it and just consider it a sort of Metallica revival.
