• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3S Exhaust

I have been playing with my stock exhaust to see if I can improve the
power and sound and keep the stock look. Here are a few things I have
done so far. Earlier I had dissembled the whole thing and punched four
1/2" holes thru the cat material and that did give me a little deeper exhaust
note. I should have made a lot more holes. This go round I just removed
the muffler. got out my torch and cut a slice about 2" long by 3/8" wide
thru the back side of the cat interior wall before the exit into the muffler.
This made a nice difference in the exhaust note without the muffler.
What surprised me was the job the muffler did in quieting everything down.
The muffler is a canister with 2 perforated pipes about 12" long running the
length of the canister, packed with Brillo type material and no baffles at all.
My butt dyno says that low end got mild boost and mid range did get a fair
boost. I am headed out in a couple of weeks for a 2500 mile trip. I will see
what effect this has had on overall power and gas mileage.

Most engines require a certain amount of back pressure--I don't know about the BRP 1330. I can give you info on a 2003 Harley Deuce. When I purchased it used with 2180 mi, the owner had drilled out the baffles to main it louder--louder is a Harley thing. Anyway the bike would not run in 5th gear below 45 mph--put-put-jerk-backfire. I installed new screamin eagle muffler's. With the new mufflers I could let it drop to 30 mph--wide open the throttle & it would accelerate without any of the previous problems the de-baffled prior mufflers exhibited. Thus the engine needed back pressure at a lower rpm. I would imagine top speed might increase with less muffler--but the lower end torque decreased considerably---just my 2 cents worth of prior experience with the Harley engine. Good luck with your muffler modifications.

F3S Exhaust Follow up

Took the scoot out for about a 20 mile test ride and
I am happy with the results. Torque seems to have
improved up thru the 5000 rpm range when going
up thru the gears. Roll on in 5th or 6th gear at speed
seems to not be as strong. Spinning the rear tire up into
3rd gear is easier to do. Still do not have the exhaust
note I would like to have. It would probably help if the
engine did not sound like a box of rocks in a LOUD rock
crusher!! Work in progress continues and i am having fun!
