• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. F3S Daytona first ryde in the rain

Had to run up to the VA this morning (45 miles each way) and had rain there and back. Was really happy with the way the Daytona handled in the rain. The lower CG really helped. Much better than the RT would have. Had a couple of times when the rear broke loose when I goosed it too hard, but other than that it stuck to the wet road like a boss.
Really pleased with this awesome machine!

Bummer...

The ryding in the rain bit..:gaah:but good to know it handles well in the wet... be safe out there...

I rode through about four to six inches of standing water once on my F3S, doing over 100 km/h. The front end tracked perfectly, the rear hydroplaned and hopped around about half a foot either direction. I'm certain I would have gone down on two wheels, but the Spyder's stability control didn't even kick in and I stayed in my lane. It was near midnight and I didn't see it in time to hit the foot brake, I was only engine braking at the time which probably contributed to the rear wheel hop.

A few hours later the highway was shut down for a sinkhole in that lane.

..........I love my Spyder in the WET...... because it has 3 wheels and ABS .... but about the Hydroplaning thing ...... A two wheeler is a lot less likely to Hydroplane for quite a few reasons, one being less tire contact patch...... In the wet and or snow Skinny tires rule ..... I'm not kidding ..... Mike
