F3 with Saddlebags/Frackle Question?

I'm interested in purchasing an F3 or RT.

Question...if you buy an F3 and put saddlebags and other accessories that come with an RT Limited like GPS , Windshield, etc....does the added weight take away from the ride-ability of the F3?

Also, for people with the F3....what do you recommend for storage?

Thanks!

for now, I mounted 2 17ltr each soft textile bags. they connect via 3 velcro straps over the passenger seat, under the passengers butt. the butt that rides on that seat in my case says its no hindrance. To be on the safe side, I mounted 2 delrin plates underneath, which I bolted to the passenger handrails with 4xm8, but 1/4 inch longer than the originals, since the plates are 1/4. For the plates I used cutting bords from the kitchen dept. of a department stores.

additionally, under the driver seat there are 2 elongated openings in the steel of the frame. I ran a strap with a tight sewn loop thru there
and around the rear shock , than out the other hole. this strap exits where the seat touches the plastic cover, between the crotch area.
Than I attached the regular motorcycle tankbag to this strap, and also sewed myself 2 straps over the handlebar to hold the forward end of bag.

Longerterm, I am just now cutting 2 pieces of aluminum, which will be attached to the same bolts, but run back and up, and above, the rear lights. There, they are beeing attached via bolts and 1 inchx 1 inch
rightangle, to a plate which sits behind the backrest. To that I am bolting the GIVI mounting plate from my Monolock Topcase. Simple.

Hi,
I have bought F3 and I have won on the EU Spyder Challenge in (AT) RT Ltd for 1 year for free. These 2 bad boys are totally different bikes.
F3 is a beast. The engine has different attitude and drives much differently than RT. More aggressively even both engines are the same.!!
Its all about your priorities, if you think you will be traveling a lot, and you will need a lot of things to carry around, also you like to have a comfort for you and your person in back, and you will only cruise around go for RT Ltd.

If you are like me, that sometimes I do cruise sometimes I really love speed.
I do travel for trips for 3days not more, and I am willing to sacrifice some comfort in exchange for aggressive look, then go for F3.

here in Europe RT Ltd is full price 32k Eur and F3 is about 24K. so you have 8k to spend to make a comfortable f3 using lot of accessories.

I have a F3S with what you see on my signature.... (which includes saddlebags). Has zero impact on anything related
to the riding of the Spyder. (Although many complain about the wind buffeting from the windshield.... no biggie for
me). The saddlebags are darn near rock-solid when mounted.

Can you put a helmet or rain jacket/suit in one of the saddlebags?

Good info. I doubt if I will be taking many multiple day trips or having many passengers. But I do want some saddlebags, windshield, heated grips, and GPS.

bag sizes

Can you put a helmet or rain jacket/suit in one of the saddlebags?

In the 2015 BRP bags, you can fit some cleaning supplies, gloves, and a rain suit, but not a full face helmet....perhaps a "skid lid" would fit.
The 2016 Limited side cases appear more like the Corbin bags and appear to have a little more volume, but I've not compared the specs.
I just added the BRP Urban Rack, which replaces the rear seat, for some quick-access storage for cell phone, gloves, sunglasses.

I have 2015 BRP saddlebags. I can fit my heavy insulated overpants (which have armor in the knees) in one bag, and when those are in there, the only room left is stuff that can fit at one end -- maybe some gloves, balaclava, small toolkit or a small/medium camera.

When riding in the summer, I tend to carry lightweight bicycling type raingear: goretex overpants and a similar bright yellow (got it before hi-viz was available) jacket. These hardly take up any room in the saddlebags so they're my go-to for trips.
