Shape of the shield: F4 designed the F3 Shields with aesthetics in mind but we also new our riders wanted performance. We were able to accomplish both as I think you will agree.

I have had many F4 windshields, Goldwing, Harley and Spyder RT. I was very interested in the windshield for the F3 to the point that I preordeded one. After I saw the posted pictures I canceled my order the picture showed the windshield to be very large so I put the Blue ridge on, ordered the X-creen to help with the buffeting. Went to Spyder Quest and went by the F4 booth and talked with Don about the his windshield. Don offered to put one on my bike for me to try and if I didn't like it he would take it off. The posted pictures do not do justice to this windshield, I was very surprised of how well the windshield looked not looking big as shown in the pictures. I am 6'1" and like to look over the windshield so I have the 28" and can see over in both positions. I found the windshield performed beyond my expectations when riding at all speeds up to 90 no buffeting only a calm air movement around me. In my opinion the ascetics and performance is second to none. My wife is 5' and will be putting the F4 on her F3 also.

I am 5'4" I am not sure I could see over the 28 inches. Plus I cant shell out another 500.00 plus shipping for another shield. The BR with the x-creen seems to be working for me at least for now.

Why would anyone try to sell a windshield online that looks nothing like their published photo??? Especially when there have been multiple unfavorable comments about the way it looks.
Just saying...

I brought up the same subject as I told Don the pictures he posted did not do the windshield justice. Don explained that his access to the F3 was limited and he had the bike for only a day for the final fitment so picture taking was very limited. Most advertising of motorcycle windshields are taken head on the issue with the F3 is the nose of the bike that is covered by windshield is long which translates into an optical illusion. Over half the length of the windshield has nothing to do with wind protcetion it serves as a finishing section for the instrument cluster to the nose. The bottom line is that windshield selection is subjective and the amount of wind in your face is different for each rider and the type of riding you do. I like to have the wind around me without buffeting and making my eyes water at any speed. I also want the windshield to flow with the bike as best as it can. The F4 windshield meets all my requirments. We are going to put one on my wife's F3 at Spyder in the Smokies. My wife is 5' so Don is going to make hers 25", this is a service he provides, I don't know of any other company that will do that unless you have a custom one made.

I ordered mine today!! I have a BR. Hate it. I'm 6'2 and it seems like all the bugs just come over the top and hit me in the chin and Mouth! Not to mention that the buffeting is a headache in the making. Can't wait to mount this baby. Luckily I got my dealer to trade the BR for fog lights, those go on n tomorrow. Thanks to all the people here for their recommendations.

Yes better pictures would be great. I need to see the windshield from all angles and how it is attached to the Spyder. Some of the hardware I have seen attaching the after market Shields to the F3 are pretty awful looking.

The Blue Ridge is not tall enough but the x-creen solves the problem. Still not the best solution.

Can you take some pictures from multiple angles that you feel truly represent the look of the shield?

The hardware kit for this windshield is top quality when compared to others. It has a 3/4" round support bar to keep the shield from moving left to right, this bar can also be used to mount other accessories such as iPod or speakers. Pictures are of 28" in the lower position.

Like the shield but the hardware is pretty ugly.

Hi Tazz,
I have the 28" tinted on my F3S. I really don't think you could get by with any less hardware for an adjustable shield. When you are sitting behind it, it looks pretty clean. Just my thoughts. Cheers!

I am sure the style and design of this shield will be liked by many and I am sure the quality and functionality is top notch but for me the design and hardware just looks like it does not belong on the F3
