• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 vs F3S

Newbie hear with a pretty basic question. I tried the search but it was overwhelmed with responses. Confirming the differences between the two is the "S" comes with cruise control, black background on the wheels, suede seat, LEDs on fenders and colors/badges. I love cruise and the seat but $1,500 seems steep. Am I missing anything?

All BRP options seem pretty steep in price to most of us, but having said that, as a distance ryder I would never dream of going without electronic cruise control..

almost 100% correct

The difference in the fender isn't an LED, it's the "updated" fender, both of them have LEDs at the front. You'll probably cringe when you read this, but that's A LOT of stuff for only $1500 more in the BRP world.

They are all pre-wired for cruise control, so if you buy a right grip module (?) you can get it.

There are threads about this if you search a bit.

Many of the dealers I went to did not have the F3. The final price I paid for the F3S was better than the price of the F3.

I have never had electronic cruise control but am looking forward to it. I was trying to justify the price difference but I know I want the "S" so I guess it doesn't matter that much anyway. I was just hoping I was missing something awesome that made it a no brainier.

I went with the S version for two reasons, I wanted the cruise and I wanted the black bike without the reddish orange frame... I have the black and chrome and think it is the best combo... ( and fastest)

Another difference between the base and S models that no one has mentioned is the upper grab bars on either side of the instrument cluster. The S version has solid metal bars to support the windshield that bolts to it. The base model has some pretty flimsy plastic bars. They look very similar but are not.

There are color combinations that require mix and match of parts from both. The gloss black frame is only available on the base model as are the silver metallic rear wheel/sprocket and frame brackets. If you want those parts, it cheaper to buy the base and upgrade than to buy the S and upgrade different parts. See pic below for the combo I was looking for. I now have an S model with a number of base model parts to get the colors/frame I wanted.
