There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. F3-T wiring

Anyone know what the orange with red and grey with green (maybe yellow) wires are for under the right hand blank equivalent of the grip heater switch?image.jpg

postscript- I originally submitted this post on my iPhone, so it wasn't until I saw it on my PC that I realised what a big plug it was for Lamonster ......he deserves it though

Yes, that would be wiring for optional fog lights that are pre wired for convenience.

Ahhhhhh

Thanks Norm......that's interesting, because we can't use the fog lights out here as our low beams are where the American fog lights go. If I can find the other end of them I might be able to run my Tricled spot lights off them. So the orange/red would go to one fog light and the grey/green to the other one?

Pete, sorry I don't know what color goes to what. However, Lamont has a great video about installing his fog lights.

I believe the orange is the positive lead and the other is the negative. Both spot lights would have to be connected to both wires. I used connector that has one input and 2 outputs. These leads are hot only with the engine running.

Pete remember that our Spyder light wiring is not the same as the US ones so the info you get given on this forum does not relate there plug is wired for what is our low beam lights of which are wired to a dip switch.
If you want to know about that plug you should get hold of the correct wiring diagram check with your dealer over there as they have a copy of that in the back of there manual or them to find out what that plug can be used for, but be care full about the info on this site because our wiring is not the same.

When l get a chance l will look into it this end as l have use of a manual but not near it at the moment maybe next week. Bruce

Yeah, thanks Bruce. I am already aware that the wiring differs between the US and Aussie/European models. I am just hunting for a place to mount a switch to use to power the newly purchased Tricled LED fender mounted spots, and I figured that if I could find the other end of those wires that were installed for the US optional fog lights, (which I am hoping might end loose somewhere near where our low beam lights are located) and I could buy a switch to match the heated grips one on the F3-L, et voila, I have a neat, accessible switch. That still doesn't solve the issue of tying the LEDs in to the high beams, but I'm in no hurry.

I already have the manual, but it's a bit vague, like me ;) .....I've just had a thought.....I'll have a look at Lamont's F3 fog lights install video. That might show me the wiring I'm after:pray:

Interesting

Interesting.....one of the wires in the wiring plug at both left and right Aussie low beam connectors is Grey/Beige(not yellow), and one of the wires leading from the US fog lights switch is also Grey/Beige, so there's a link in there somewhere.

I don't have to source a switch because Lamont kindly includes one in his fog lights kit ( which is how I first found out the Aussie and US lighting is different, Bruce:opps:).

I still have to find out where the Orange/Red wire also at the US fog lights switch with the Grey/Beige and two earth wires is linked to. It does appear to terminate at the headlights in the wiring diagrams in the shop manual, but........:gaah:
