• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi all,

my new Elka rear shock has arrived and I want to swap it out asap. Can anyone spread any light on removing the old one? Is it fairly straightforward? Torque values?

what is the best way to support the frame while removing the shock?

Don't know..!!

What do you have to work with..?? An atv/motorcycle lift is best. As for torque spec's you need to check the shop manual which would also give you the whole proceedure. Replacing it is simple enough top bolt and bottom bolt raise and lower rear wheel to line up the bolt holes. If no specs available I suggest tight...:roflblack: think it is around 45 lbs...:dontknow:

BAM

You may want to send a message to user BAM as he just finished doing a swap just recently and is a very helpful guy!

The F3 Repair and Maintenance manual says 35 ft-lbs + or - 4 ft lbs. Honest, I looked it up.

I just put the FOX shock on mine.
You need to remove the rear splash panel to get to the top bolt, there are 2 more torx screws under the rear seat to remove the panel.
