• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 Service Intervals

I thought the Service Intervals for the new 1330 engine was every 6k for some reason. When I was approaching 14k miles I wanted to schedule a service but then I read this on a dealer website:

Here are the intervals for the 1330 ACE:
- Replace Oil & Oil Filter: 1st Change at 3100 miles, 2nd Change at 9,300 miles, 3rd Change at 19,000 miles, 4th Change at 28,000 miles. If you don't put that many miles on your Spyder you should change it annually.
- Spark Plugs should be changed at 28,000 miles
- Fuel Filter changed at 19,000 miles
- Air Filter changed at 19,000 miles (replace & clean housing more frequently in duty and wet areas)
- Engine Coolant change at 28,000 miles
- Drive Belt check and adjust as needed at every oil & filter change

Thanks for posting, this helps ease my mind at work a little. Wasnt sure if we were over. Have to read through the manual when i get home.

Per the owners manual the 1st oil change is at 3000 miles.
From then on it's every additional 9300 miles or one year whichever comes first.
Example:
1st oil change on 7/1/17 @ 3000 miles
2nd oil change due @ 12300 miles or by 7/1/18.

Obviously you can change more often if you so desire.

There has been confusion about the oil change intervals on the 1330.

After much hashing it out and discussion on the site

First oil change (break - in service) at about 3000 miles.

Subsequent oil changes: 9300 mile intervals OR once a year--whichever comes first. Many feel that 9300 is to long. It's okay to change earlier if you are in the same boat. BRP had to do their homework to make that statement. I know they don't want warranty claims.

I am following the 9300 or once a year interval--so far--I am good.

If you really want to split some hairs: the oil changes should happen at 9,300 miles, OR one year.
So if your first service was at 3,000 miles: the next oil change should be at 12,300 miles.

Really. ...😲

"Air Filter changed at 19,000 miles (replace & clean housing more frequently in duty and wet areas)" Does this mean what I think it means....:roflblack::roflblack: I don't ryde in duty areas...:roflblack: couldn't resist.....

Here's how BRP wrote it:
Recommended Periodic Maintenance Schedule
1330 ACE Engine
First inspection and maintenance @3,000 miles
Second " " " @9,300 miles
Third @19,000 miles
and so on

If one reads the owner's manual one notes the Break-in Inspection is done at 5,000 KM (3,000) miles and the subsequent oil and filter change are done at Every 15,000 KM (9,300 MI). The "Every 9,300 Mi" services are exclusive of the original 3,000 miles put on the ACE 1330 engine. The engine is designed to run 15,000 KM (9,300 MI) or one year (whichever comes first) between oil changes. The "whichever comes first" caveat is to ensure engines that are not run year round do not sit with combustion byproducts in the crankcase for extensive periods. Change it whenever you choose; it's your Spyder.

Second oil change is done at 12,300 on the odometer, not 9,300. It's 9,300 + 3,000 (first). That's actually give or take 1K each time.

Some of these posts are so confusing. Some are not counting the 1st oil change or service at 3k miles & saying the next service is 9300 miles. I did the same as you, but reading other posts, they are shortening the intervals by 3k miles. Well, I've got over 24k on my 2016 F3 Limited & don't plan on changing the interval.

:oldpost: This discussion has been well and truly thrashed out since this thread had a go waaay back in July 2017 - once you've had the inital 3000 mile service done, the 1330's service interval is 9300 miles OR one Year, whichever comes first.... and as the owner of one of those machines, you can choose to get it serviced/do the servicing yourself whenever you like, but unless you can support/provide evidence that the BRP mandated service intervals have at least been met, don't count on getting too much in the way of support if things ever go pear shaped!
