There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. F3 rear fender delete

Had the F3 for a few weeks and already added Lamonster LED headlights and phone mount. This weekend I decided to delete the rear fender and add a side mount license plate bracket. The job was pretty easy and only took a couple hours. Pretty happy how it came out.

Looks cool, but my wife's F3 already spits up enough stuff at me when I ride behind her. If I did that to her F3, I would be dodging stuff all day.

Congrats. ..

Well done. ..:2thumbs: does make the tire look that much bigger. Hope it's not too messy...:dontknow:

Ok, don't get me wrong. I'm not bashing, but my first reaction is why do that? If Can-Am sold them without the fender, the after-market guys would be selling you them.

I want to do the Can Am rear fender mod. Are there any write ups on removing and replacing the rear fenders?

BTW, nice DIY. Any issues rerouting the brake light cables.

You won't touch the brake light cables as they are under the passenger seat. It's the number plate light cable only, and that cable is routed to the fender past where this plate mount is screwed to.

So I would say no issues at all.

Thanks guys! I wanted to give my ride a little bit of a custom look and there is just something about the fender I dont care for athsteticly. I think this shows off the rear tire a bit more and doubt I'll have any tailgaters now. The wiring for the lighting was really easy since the existing plate wire lighting is on the right side of the swing arm.

I have done this on mine and the instructions are decent.... If you are mechanically inclined and have the basic tools you should be fine. The hardest part is getting the two small spacers in place on the bolts. The method I used was to start the center (forward) bolt just enough to hold the fender up so you have both hands to do the rear bolts/spacers....

did you have to cut the original plate light wire that is routed through the fender? if so, how did you connect to the new light on the plate? Also, which side plate did you use?

thanks!

Thanks for the tip! Any pic of it installed?

There is a connector behind the plate behind an access panel on the stock fender where you can disconnect. I then cut wiring left to the right length and soldered in the wiring for the new plate lighting and covered all the connections with heat shrink. The side plate came from figuremachine.com. Not terribly difficult with some basic mechanical skills.

I put the Sport Fender on my 2009 GS Because the fender was Falling off? The F3 Rear Fender is Solid and Functional Soooo Why mess with it??
