F3 owners - how does the rider's backrest mount?

I've notice that some F3s I've looked at have a riders backrest installed, and some don't. Most of these backrests, at least on two wheeled bikes anyway, have a slot in the rear portion of the seat for the bar the pad is mounted to. In pics of the F3, it looks like this bar just slides between the front and rear seat. Is this actually how it mounts, or is there a slot in the seat I'm just not seeing?

In the F3 Ltd there is no slot in the rider's seat. You mount the backrest between the rider and passenger seat. Mounting involves removing both seats for installation. Not a hard job if you are mechanically inclined.

I bought the backrest from Lamonster - it bolts under the seat where you attach the portion that you can slide the backrest into and out of. It is easy to remove the backrest with this setup and installation was easy. The hardest part was getting the driver's seat back onto the machine.
