• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 Limited trunk issue?

I took my 18 in for Dash Firmware update and trunk issue. They have filed a claim with BRP to replace the top case lid.
and of course I will have to quartz coat the new one...

My 2017 Ltd box is the same, told BRP, no response, so I deal with it and after 20K miles I don't think about it anymore. I just automatically adjust it every time I close the box (no I haven't put a rack on the top and don't plan to, I think the top is to flimsy to hold anything on the rack, so I don't want to temp myself by having that rack there). Plus it would take away form the look that I like of a clean box with my strips.
If you don't want to deal with it, put a rack on the top, no I don't think BRP will ever replace your trunk but may make a future version better........we hope!

Upon close examination, I found the two upright latch pins to be too far forward - toward the front of the bike. I moved them a bit rearward and viola, the lid closes nicely.

My 2018 F3L did the same thing (not engaging trunk tab on left side, unless pushed in place). Since the paint job on the frunk and trunk lids was mottled, after the dealer replaced them, the trunk lid now has issues engaging the tabs on BOTH sides. Sigh...

hrdware101....There's gotta be adjustments in there, so that the tabs align. Some peeling off of Tupperware and maybe the backrest should reveal it.
This is another example of why I prefer to do my own maintenance, because there are a lot of guys out there who are dangerous with tools in their hands. And motorcycle shops hire them.

I bought a factory trunk to put on my 2017 F3T. It has the same issue, so far not a problem as long as I make sure that the lid tabs align with the trunk body when closing the lid. I will say that I have owned many motorcycles over the years that had trunks/tour packs and the F3 trunk lid is the flimsiest piece of poo I've ever seen... even worse than the frunk lid, which is no prize either.

Hi.
When I received the 2018 F3 Ltd in January I had some problems with the unit and BRP decided to change it.
The first unit had the problem with the trunk but not the second one. So, could be an assembly problem?
Now the only minor problem I have (speaking about storage) :roflblack: is that sometimes the lid of the console compartment
opens. I'm experimenting with solutions such as tightening the spring and adding an extra washer to lower the stud.

Ricz, I looked at it myself thinking the same. No adjustment. I guess the trunk lid material is so thin that it cannot hold its shape and it flops around like a wet noodle. I was even thinking about gluing in some kind of reinforcement on the underside of the lid.
