• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 limited side bags//design weakness!

hi everyone, i have a 2019 f3 limited. after a very nice 4 hour ride with the mises, f3 handled very well. Got home, unloaded the top case, went to the right side bag opened it and it slide from my grasp, dropped down, and came unhinged! i dont know if this has happened to anyone else, but, it is a BEAR to re attatch the lid hinge. this is a very cheap plastic hinge by the way, very flimsy! i tolerate the top case situation but this really frustrated me. i wound up using a 15 torx driver to take the hinge apart at the main bag, not the lid side, just to get the door hinge in position to re attatch the two sides. you are not going to just snap the hinge together without risking breakage. not going to happen. it is a difficult balancing , contortionist, twisting time consuming situation to get this back together. what really frustrates me is this happening out on a trip. that would be a bummer. I can only say that the vendor for brp on this luggage situation is laughing on their way to the bank, for what these run retail, or brp is making a 90 percent profit on these. what a shame, considering that the f3 performs flawless and is very well engineerd. that this luggage is so cheaply made. i guess i am just venting!!!

I’ll say! If you had removed the tether cable, opened the side case beyond 90 degrees, slid it back together, and reattached the tether, you would be done in nothing flat! Seems like yours was not seated properly. Yes, they are a bit delicate, but, so are most bikes. Adventure bikes and harleys are different, as Harley believes 1000# is ok! For what they do, which is keep a bit of gear safe and dry, they do great! Anything more, tow the trailer!!!

Realizing that can happen, I developed the habit of placing my leg a few inches from the side case cover and let the lid drop against my leg. Then I gently move it down until the cable stops it.

:agree: From day one, I saw that these were very fragile side cases. So I have gotten into the habit of treating them with kids gloves. Hopefully this never happens again.

While on the subject of the side cases, I came up with a simple fix to that separate piece that helps to hold stuff in. I don't have a name for it. They tend to pop out of the slot at the back of the case, so I ran a sheet metal screw through that piece and into the plastic behind it. Not knowing what's behind it, I selected a length of screw that it goes into the second layer just enough to hold.
