F3 lateral console panel removal

well anyone try to remove the "lateral console panel" as labeled in the repair manual. this is the panel on top of the tank next to the key cylinder. the manual says to pull the panel outward and remove being careful not to break the clip. well, this panel moves a little forward and back. something does not want to release, and i do not want to break anything. any tips?

Pull it forward, then rotate the front toward you. Thought I busted it the first time!

Agree. Hated removing those as every time I thought I busted something, but never did.
