There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. F3 Improvement

New member
Have BRP made any improvements to the 2016 and /or 2017 F3s concerning the rear shock (bottoming out) and belt vibration problems.

They have...

Well on the shock part anyway. One needs to know if the new shock is on the unit..:dontknow: but know they have a better shock available. As for the vibration of the belt....well thats just the nature of the beast and the aftermarket guys are making headway.....

2016 F3-L Experience

Have BRP made any improvements to the 2016 and /or 2017 F3s concerning the rear shock (bottoming out) and belt vibration problems.

Hi Doug,

I took "the chosen one" out on the back of our new 2016 F3-L yesterday with the air shock set to 60psi.....I am 310lbs (135 kgs) and the chosen one around 125lbs (55kgs) so we are over the max weight at 435lbs and there was no bottoming out over some pretty rough local Aussie rural roads.

I can't really comment on the vibration, as at around 70mph (110 kph) the wind buffeting from the stock lipped screen is near blowing my head off so I can"t feel anything......hurry up with my F4, Australia Post.

My dealer has readjusted the belt. Vibration is still there. But barely notice it. Big improvement! The Limited's rear air shock is great. No problems. The problem stems from, and it's MHO. Dealers aren't informing the buyer ahead of time that the stock F3 is basically a one up Spyder. It has a low max weight for the rear. So, a rider with bags and luggage can easily get up to the limit. Same if you ride 2 up. My selling dealer stopped us from buying a stock F3. She said if you both will be riding, plus loaded saddle bags? You need to upgrade to the F3T, or the Limited. We purchased the Limited and haven't looked back. Tom :spyder:

Just add air

Have BRP made any improvements to the 2016 and /or 2017 F3s concerning the rear shock (bottoming out) and belt vibration problems.

I added air to the suspension on my F3L and stiffened the suspension. No bottoming out with my daughter and I riding.

I don't understand, al0vely....combined, we are over 400lbs and had no problems with the stock F3-L suspension once we pumped the rear to 60. Why did you need to stiffen the suspension?

The air is what stiffened it in my terms ... before I added air it had none in it and if you pushed down on the rear seat the bike would go down or you could easily bounce it up and down. Once I added air 40 pounds it was more firm and would not bounce.

Ahhhhhh gotcha........I initially read that as - you added air AS WELL AS stiffening the spring......bloody English can be soooooo confusing. :gaah: ......my bike was exactly the same....0 psi when I picked it up, even after making a specific request that it be set for 300lb rider. I sat on it in the showroom and it immediately bottomed out  You wonder exactly what they do when they take the Spyder out for its 15km test ride to make sure "everything is perfectly set up"......

considering F3

Considering F3 so allow me to ask follow up to all the comments above. My anti-Farkle department head only Rydes occasionally and mostly short trips. I am 230 she is about 130, so are you saying the Byke will bottom out on us unless it is the L or T?
also, even with L or T if we boost the bag to 40 to 60 PSI, then all seems good?
Any clarification would be great. :dontknow::chat:

Vibration? You gotta be kidding me. I used to have a Road King Classic. Now that's vibration at idle. By comparison, My 2015 F3 is like a living room recliner!:p

Joe at 360 lbs., you are under the max limit. IMO you should be fine. Again IMO, I would opt for the better shock as part of the deal. Tom :spyder:
