• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 Heated grip question

So I got the Cam Am grips installed. They act odd, it seems like it gets warmer the faster I go. When I am stopped or in idle they get cool. Anyone else experience this?

Who installed?

Did you install them or did the dealership do it? If dealership did it, take it back and tell them the situation and you want it checked out. If you did it, double check your work. I've heard that they weren't that great and only had on or off setting.

Yep, no low or high settings, just on or off.

Mine get warm fairly quick and I never noticed them cooling down when I was at stop signs or red lights. They stay warm until I turn them off.

The dealership put them in. I already spoke to them, so I plan to go there tomorrow and have them check it out. They also did not put some panels back on correctly, so I will point that out to. I don't know if there are any alternatives to the Cam Am grips. I am surprised at the low quality. people with the upgraded models get these sub par grips standard and pay over 20k for there machine.

I think the problem IS your dealer install and Not the grips- They are Halfway Between Low and High of the RT Version and work well!

Did you ever find out what's up with the heated grips? I'm almost thinking your alternator doesn't have the oomph to keep them hot at idle (at stops, like you mentioned). I'm considering getting them myself and would like to avoid potential issues...

Mine aren't a constant heat either. They seem to turn on and off like a burner on a stove. They were dealer installed so thought maybe that's the way they operate. My $80 Oxford grips on my other bike are more consistent.

Guess I'll have to follow up as well.

cheers,
