• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I tried

I tried doing it, had all the panels off, but even finding the wires to connect it was a pain. I finally gave up and took mine into the shop to have them done. The biggest cost is the time spent taking all the panels off. The installation itself apparently isn't too time consuming.

There are a couple of guys on the forum who have done it themselves though.

If you do a search you will find that Lamont also commented that finding the connectors was the worst part of the entire install.

there's a small 'cap' to the left of the ignition switch... this cap is removed to insert the HEATED GRIPS switch... this i know... what i don't know is: WHERE IS THE WIRING FOR THE GRIPS? is it already in place, and 'dead ends' just before the current hand grips... or do you need to install the wire harness from the grips along the bars, into the Tuperware, and connect it someplace inside the F3....???
does any1 no if there are instructions that can be had....?

The heated grips come with lengthy harnesses attached. I installed them on my F3 - a tedious job... As mentioned, a lot of the tupperware comes off and you route the grip harnesses with the existing harness running down the handlebars, down into the interior of the Spyder and down to the lower right hand side (below the RH aux light) where the existing connectors are. As I recall, the included instructions had some room for improvement, but were just good enough to get the job done.

The connectors are under the center console top panel, on the right side about 6" from the steering column. Two connectors with caps to plug the new harness into. All this is in the instructions that come with the heated grips along with a photo pointing them out. Yes you need to disassemble the current grip and add the heat wiring to the harness loom. Its not a hard install at all. They simply plug in.
