• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3/F3S - Progressive adjustable rear alternative

Considering the two-up option and the extra load carried (no-doubt a significant difference
when adding that extra 100+lbs... or more... for the passenger), has anyone considered
something like the link below? Adjustable pre-load w/o tools.

When I had the Vision a few years back, and that weighed-in at 850lbs also, I could always
tell when I forgot to add a little extra air in the rear monoshock. My thought here is something
along that like with a preload adjustment on a progressive rate shock. (Lets call it a coilover which
is what it really is)

THOUGHTs..... COMMENTs ?

THAT SHOCK

Neat idea ..................But have you thought about is,, can you get to the top of the shock to adjust it.......Mike

I thought the same. I need to see what the eye-2-eye measurement is to start with, then see
if its even possible to grab that adjuster/preload section.

What I also need to do is measure with me on.... then add the wife and check overall travel,
then see what they have that might work.

The Elka rear shock on my RS had a remote resevior with a pre load adjustment. The new Fox 2.0 that I will be putting on my F3 also has the remote res with the pre load adjustment.

The Fox shock external reservoir adjusts the damping not the preload. The preload is adjusted by a threaded ring on the shock body which can be accessed easily on the machine.

.... and that is why I was looking for an alternative on the preload if possible. (anything with rebound or compression
settings is a plus)
