• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 Extra Keys

I only got one key with my F3-S. The dealer lost the spare key. The dealer said I can pick up a blank. Have it cut by a locksmith. Then, bring the key and the motorcycle back to him to be programmed. Is this true?

What..!!

They all come with two keys. Why do you have to get the key..:yikes: they are right that they need to program it but the key word here is they...:banghead:

So there's a spare key around for you Spyder, I would demand new locks or at least a new code for all keys involved.

Checklist

Before my F3-S was delivered, I made a checklist for myself which included collect 2 keys, service book, dvd, operating guide, check for scratches on delivery, check all lights, horn, heated grips etc is working, ask to be shown how to put F3 in reverse gear, how to open front compartment and a few other things. If only one key was present I would have rejected F3 until they presented me with 2 keys (it would have broke my heart for more waiting). I always have done a checklist for myself to remind me what to check and collect on vehicles I have owned in the past.

I had to replace key. Ordered new blank through dealer at $50.00. Then I was responsible for getting the new blank cut. Insult to injury, had to pay $50.00 to have new key programed. $100.00 for a new key, Yikes!

You paid for TWO keys!!

Gotta agree with Darren on this. Having two keys is part of the purchase price. I would have not accepted the
Spyder with only one key. If the dealer "lost" the other key then that's his problem and not your's.
Now you have to face the likelihood of someone else with a key to your bike and while it won't start the engine** it can
still be used to get into the frunk and unlock the steering.

**This is assuming that the dealer has set up a new electronic keycode .....which may be doubtful given that he can't find
the missing key which is in the frunk with the bike's literature pack on delivery.
So he needs to hold up his hand, admit his error and either stump up for a new set of locks and two new keys or simply
exchange the whole bike for another which is complete.

Exactly where would your find a blank spyder key with a chip inside it other than a Spyder dealer ??? That dealer owes you the key & legwork required---I've heard those keys have a $200 price tag due to the chip inside plus programming.

Since he lost the key; have him provide you with the blank...
But he is telling you the truth...
:agree: & if you feel is an honest mistake, they trying good customer service, its your call,
good to guilt trip them later when you need discount for a service fee, or something.
Builds repore & may pay off later. :popcorn:Too many have lost respect for customer loyalty:lecturef_smilie:.

Extra Keys

Like Darren 111, I made a checklist of all the things required on my F3 before I bought it. The spare key was missing. And BRP supplys the F3 with 2 keys. It took a week to get the second key, and they had to have the bike to program it. But I paid nothing for it.
