• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F1 EVOLUTION III -SHORTY question

Does anyone have one of these. I was going to wait for the adjustable but not sure I like the look of either one. The other ones are too tall for me. I like the look of this one, but not sure how it performs and I don't remeber seeing anyone talk about this one. I currently have the stock windshield and was going to wait till spring, but with the cold weather coming I can see that cold air is going to put a beating on my chest area. I'm worried about the head bobing everyone talks about. Any input would be great. Also anyone know how long it takes to get one? Thanks again

I thought you started another thread about putting the Spyder up when it gets cold. :dontknow: :D :joke:

Its too bad there isn't a way for someone to see all the shield options in person. I wouldn't discount F1 based on a couple of negative responses. My wife has the Evo III and I think it is Marcel's best looking shield to date. She loves it, it looks good on her Spyder. Calsci may be another great option but I'm not digging the looks of that huge hole in the middle of the shield. I really want to see the Industries 7 adjustable shield as I like a short shield for around town riding or short X-way rides but I like the wind protection and noise reduction of a tall shield for extended X-way rides. Swapping out shields every time is a pain.

By cold I'm talking 50 or so..like in October. :) We had a few of those days here and I could really tell the difference with the cold air beating on me. I like the shorty..the other ones are too tall for me. I agree with you completely about the adjustable shield for different rides. I just don't really like the look of either of them. I love the look of the shorty but not if it is gonna do what I need it to do

Try to see any windshield before buying. (My issue was resolved by Mark)

I sent Marcel a PM asking about the height of the Shorty Evo III and how it might compare to the BRP Tour and he has not responded. I prefer the look of the shorter shields, but do need a bit more protection than the BRP Tour provides. I was leaning toward medium Calsci, but was concerned about reports of rough edges and clutch lever hitting. Evo III Shorty might be OK, but still no idea on how tall it is.
