• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Extra Helmet

I want to pick up an extra helmet to have so I can take someone for a ride. Need to know what would be the most common size helmet for a woman. I know a helmet needs to fit properly but this is just for taking someone on for a quick spin. I figure either a med. or a large.

Women come in all different shapes and sizes... :roflblack:
Face it; you can't cover the entire range, so I'd aim for the middle and take along a tape measure in your pocket when looking for passengers! :joke:
Good luck!
Seriously...
What sort of helmet are you looking to get?
The bare minimum DOT-approved 1/2 helmet "shorty" might have a wider fitment range for short hops on the bike.
Conversely; a full face bucket always seems to take more care, to get the size right...

couture

You may also take into consideration the amount of hair that is attached to said head. :chat: my wife has a bunch and wears a med/lrg Givi
Good Luck;)

Grandpa Pete:joke:

Aaaaahhhhh......................unscrupulously using the Spyder to pick up babes, eehh?? Cad! I'd never stoop that low. :joke: I'd run with a large (helmet, Sir, helmet), unless you favor the Sinead O'Conner style woman.

I can't suggest a size. Take a woman with you to the store. :D

While I don't recommend them for normal riding, I think a half helmet would work best for occasional use like this. There are fewer fit problems that way, and some may even be slightly adjustable. Get a DOT approved one, though, not just a beanie. Some googles might also be a good thing to pack in you bag if you provide a half helmet.

Found a close out on a DOT 3/4 helmet at a local Harley dealer. Bought a small and a med. I should be "covered":roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::yes::yes::yes:

larry, I guarantee you the first one that wants to take a spin is a large, or has one heck of a head of hair!!!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: i'd go for the large one too!

I would say..!!

go with the medium 1/2 helmet. May be a bit loose on the small and a bit tight on the large but will work for all..well there may be exceptions....to bad they don't adjust like construction hard hats..!!

I would choose a Medium helmet and a Bra, perhaps a 34C, just incase your trip includes bumpy roads ;)

Boy some people's minds just can't stay out of the gutter!:banghead: Just want to keep an extra helmet around my house in case someone wanted to go for a ride. :yes:Not out trying to pick up chicks on my Spyder. Not that I wouldn't take advantage of that situation if it should arise.
