• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there a good place to purchase all the fuses for the :spyder2:, been to Radio Shack, Walmart, :spyder2: Dealer, and Checkers Auto. I'd like to keep several spares on hand.
Thanks:dontknow:
Or maybe a web site.

You can get fuses anywhere but you should keep some relays handy as well...I got mine at Parry Performance...can find them online and look up the parts...order them...good to have a few extra...

Order a toothbrush while you're at it! :joke:

Fuses

Yep, knew about the ones in the lid, just wanted to get some extras. As far as the relays..... What exactly are you referring to?:dontknow:

Toothbrush! I don't need not stinking Toothbrush. I always have something to munch on..:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

You have your fuses and then you have those little black boxes around the fuses...they can go on you as well. Depending if you have the 08 or 09, you might have 1 or two types. Some here have bought different brands as they feel the stock are not so great. I bought OEM as I haven't had a problem yet.

Relays should last a long time.

For example, my 1992 BMW 325ci is just having the master relay go haywire now...so, 17 years for that puppy!

On some Spyders here, they have already gone...but who knows why and who knows if some mods are creating power issues...

Regardless, get some extra...Lamont has a source...I ordered from Parry Performance...about 10.00 each and the 'big' one on my 2008 was 30.00...

Don't forget the maxi-fuses in the box under the seat. Probably can't get the 25 amp one anyplace but the dealer...odd size.

And good luck with the dealers. I stopped at three Michigan dealers a week ago and none of them had the under seat maxi-fuses in stock.

There are those of us who are content to leave home on our Spyder with a cell phone and a credit card. At the other extreme are those that have all the tools and spare parts to cope with just about anything short of a roadside engine rebuild. I fall somewhere in between and would like to pass along some of the things I have learned in preparing my Spyder for travel.
I like to have a set of relays, fuses and bulbs with me. I am not concerned about having a headlight bulb like I was on my 2 wheelers with only one headlight. With 2 headlights and 2 fog lights, I think I will make it to somewhere that I can get a replacement bulb with no trouble if one goes out.
All of the relays, fuses and bulbs are readily available at just about any auto parts store or even Walmart with two glaring exceptions. The 25 amp fuse in the rear fuse panel, under the seat and the bulb for the rear turn signals. I went to 3 different brand of auto parts stores and was unable to obtain either of these items. I have them on order from BRP and I hope they will arrive before my wife and I leave for Gatlinburg.
While checking to see what relays, fuses and bulbs I needed I discovered the BRP tool kit to be lacking two items. 1)The small phillips head screw that holds on the rear turn signal lens is too small to be removed with the large phillips head that is part of the tool kit. 2) I was unable to remove the fuses in the rear fuse panel under the seat without using a pair of pliers and there are none in the tool kit.
I just thought some of you might want to find these things out in this forum and not by the side of the road. Ryde Safe and Enjoy

Why the dealers are not stocking simple parts like fuses and bulbs is a mystery to me. While one dealer may not have them, my three dealer strike out on 25 amp fuse (including one Platinum dealer) was a real surprise. All offered to order one for me.

Mike,
I assume Grove's Motorsports was one of the dealers. :dontknow:

Groves, MotorCity Powersports (Bloomfield Hills) and K&W (Utica). When I schedule my 6,000 mile service with C&C, I will ask them to order a couple so hopefully they will be there when I get the work done.
