There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Extended Warranty

Has anyone been able to obtain a genuine BRP three-year extended warranty on a 2008 SE5 that's cheaper than the $1024 I was quoted?
Looking for dealer name and contact info. Thank you.

Dane at Elk Grove Power Sports cut me a deal on a BRP warranty for $775 or something like that. Now for the beauty part: I won second place in BRP's my best ride contest which was a $1000 in merchandise. I got the warranty, helmet and some ATV boots. So I am love BRP.

The factory cost (to the dealer) was less than $600 in mid-2008 on an SM. I don't think the warranty price will decrease, either.

You probably missed your prime warranty buying opportunity when you didn't negotiate it in at the time of purchase.

Gary,

I'm with you...I'm going to have to check with my dealer when I take it in for service...they will likely go below the $1000, but I'm not sure how much...

If we could secure a source for $775.00, we should throw them a lot of business....correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it matters where you get the BRP warranty as it's a national warranty...

I'm with ya on that too...as far as the warranty goes, when I take my bike in for service (really busy now...hopefully early spring), will hope my salesperson offers me a really good price...if we can throw business to a dealership who will give us the warranty for a good price, it'll likely be worth it for them as we'll send them numbers!

They're not open this early, so I used their on-line contact form and sent a request for their extended warranty price. And yes, if the warranty is from BRP it would be honored at any BRP dealer.

Gary ... I have a contact to purchase the BEST extended warrenty for $899 any time. I bought several BEST from them already include one for my Spyder. PM if interested (not the same one for accessories). By the way, did you get your sport rack with back rest?

To confirm, the BEST extended warranty is not the BRP extended warranty, its held by a different company? Is it honored at every BRP dealer and does it have identical coverage as BRP?

As for the Spyder backrest, I will most likely not get it. It was originally for my wife when she rides as a passenger on the Spyder, but for Valentine's Day she received her very own Yamaha V Star 950, so from now on, she'll ride that and be "the master of her own domain."

:dontknow: The BEST warranty is the BRP extended warranty, as is the BEST Plus. I'm confused.

There may be some company out there selling warranties they call Best but I think that everyone here is referring to the BRP Best warranty or the BRP Best Plus warranty. Either the BRP website or a local BRP dealer should be able give you the specifics of the BRP coverage.

Got a call from the dealer rep this morning offering the 3 year extended warranty for 799.00.

Also offering 3 year maintenance contract for 2500.00 which seems high unless you put the kind of miles on your machine that Lamonster does.:coffee:

$2,500??? they're nuts. What can you use that's not covered under BEST and can cost $2,500 in three years? Oil change? Bet that doesn't even include tires.

Not to start a war here but i put way more than $2500 into service in ONE year not three. And I did some of it myself. If you do everything to a Spyder that is required it is wicked expensive.

I did a work up on price per mile for the Spyder and it is quite a bit cheaper for me to drive my Toyota Highlander. Not as much fun mind you.

So yeah $2500 is a lot for service and I wouldn't buy it, but it is probably not a bad deal.

I can post the actual service numbers if anyone is interested.

I suppose you could let dealer do everything they "recommend" that you do. But any vehicle that cost me over $1K for maint. / service needs in any given year will be hittin the door faster than anyone can say "yo". My annual maint. cost for any of my cars, jet skiies, and toys is expected to be less than $200 each. I work on it myself whenever possible to save money.
