• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Extended warranty

I called Beth yesterday evening at Pitt Bulls. I got the 3-year extended warranty for $745 and we did all this over the phone. She is going to mail me all my information. Thank you guys for your help.:clap::clap:

I need to call Beth too, my dealer quoted me $1647 for Best 3yr and $1100 for Western 4yr.

So a question. The used Sypder I am buying has a 3 year that is good till Jan 2016.
Can you extend that even more?
Reason I ask is I have seen used spyders for sale here in Ca. that advertise a 10 year with 8 still left on it!

Might I assume this is some other warrantee other than BEST?

Interstate Extended Warranty

I'm considering an extended warranty, though, as a rule, I never get them. With the Spyder being more complex than most machines, I think it might be "warranted" to get.

But I've been learning about the options and would like your reactions.

I hear the BEST warranty has a $50 deductable - per problem. So, if you go to the dealer with 3 problems, the deductable would be $150. It also is only useable at Spyder dealers.

The finance guy at Reno's in Kansas City suggested a $950 3rd party warranty for 5 years (after the OEM warranty expires) that has no deductable and can be used at any service provider. He also says it cover some things the BEST warranty does not. He emailed the info on it, but I have not compared the coverages myself, yet.

My RTS' original warranty will expire in July '13. I don't really know how long I'll be keeping my Spyder. I can't afford to trade in the foreseeable future, and, so far, I have no reason or desire to do so. (I'm waiting for the "next big thing" that will make me want to upgrade.)

What do ya'll think?
My dealership told me that Interstate Extended Warranty is a 72 month bumper to bumper and can be used at any service provider. They said that it covers a lot more than BEST. Does anyone know anything about that?

The dealer told me that the $50 deductible was per use, not necessarily per problem.

PrairieSpyder;618482 I hear the BEST warranty has a $50 deductable - per problem. So said:
In other words, they said that if you have a problem that is small and doesn't require immediate attention you may want to wait until there are two or three other things to take care of as well. They said that you would be charged the $50 deductible once for that visit no matter how many (covered) problems were repaired.

I haven't had to worry about this yet so I can't vouch for it, but the lady that told me was the owner's wife and handles all of the paperwork at the dealership so she SHOULD know.

Good luck!!

I purchased the Zurich Warranty for my 2011 RT. It has no deductible and was for 5 years from the end of factory warranty. It is good at any Motorcycle dealer. Paid $800. PM me if anybody wants more details.

The dealer can charge whatever they want, but here is some typical discounted pricing.

1 yrs.- $579 - After 60 days + $75 = $654
2 yrs.- $689 - After 60 days + $150 = $839
3 yrs.- $749 - After 60 days + $225 = $974

My selling dealer offered me 2 year extension for $1,500.00....Nice guy,huh?...Not good for business..

I am sure this is old news to most of you but perhaps there is a newbie out there like myself who had the same question.

called up to PitBull and spoke with Joe. Beth is no longer around it seems. Cost for a 3 year warranty is still $749 as long as you are a member here.

your bike must still be under warranty from BRP to qualify.

I bought an RPM service for 72 months, unlimited miles, 24 months manufacturer, and 48 months after for $999.00. I guess I'm about at the lower end, so I'm not going to complain about that.

The thing I like about the BEST warranty is that it's tied to your VIN. As soon as the dealer looks up your VIN he's aware you have the BEST. You might be able to get third party coverage for less or for a longer time period, but there's always a question whether the dealer you're going to will honor a third party warranty. This is especially true if you're a long way from home and break down. Take SpyderAnn's case, for example. She was 1,400 miles from home when her magneto went out. The dealer she took it to was willing to give her full trade-in value because she had the BEST. If she had RPM, or Zurich, or whatever, I doubt Len would have been so generous, at least until the third party paid up.

Clarification for pricing at Bert's

Just in case people are reading this entire thread like I just did;

My name is Bryce Page and I work at Bert's Mega Mall. I have sold to many members here on Spyderlovers.com and we are a sponsor on this site as well. We are probably one of the main reasons why other dealers are doing such great prices on the BEST warranty across the United States. We appreciate all of your kind words about Bert's and I assure you that we honor the prices we advertise. You have to contact me Bryce Page at [email protected] or 626-430-9449 and mention that you are a spyderlovers.com member.

This promotional pricing is not just for our retail customers however, it was designed to help out the members on this wonderful site. We do have retail business and finance managers who handle the retail business that walks in or calls on the phone. They will quote whatever the manufacturer sets forth as a limit to the selling price. I can only assume that the members who said that they called into Bert's and spoke with a man who gave them a very high price on the BEST warranty did not ask for me. I am a woman, very polite, and I know everytime that I get a call on the BEST warranty that its from my favorite site spyderlovers.com

I am not a salesperson so I dont try to sell you anything however, everyone that knows me and has done business with me I try to give my honest opinion about what you should purchase, and dont pressure you at all.

I just wanted to set the record straight and make sure that anyone who had a doubt about our pricing is well informed about our dealership.

I hope all is well with everyone, and Happy and SAFE riding out there!

If you have any questions please contact me at [email protected] or 626-430-9449. I always have my phone on me and my e-mails go to my phone, so even if I am not at work I will try and answer your e-mails in a timely manner.

Thanks everyone for making us successful on spyderlovers.com !!!

Service plan

I purchased the Can-Am extended plan. It comes in two flavors, one with maintenance and once without. I was told that most maintenance item are not really covered by the maintenance plan and to just go with the regular service plan. You can get it from any dealer.
