• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Extended warranty

Has anyone purchase an extended warranty after you purchase your Spyder from anyone? Does BRP allow you to purchase an extended warranty?

I purchased the Can-Am extended plan. It comes in two flavors, one with maintenance and once without. I was told that most maintenance item are not really covered by the maintenance plan and to just go with the regular service plan. You can get it from any dealer.

I live in Connecticut but got mine from a California dealer. His contact information is....

The dealer can charge whatever they want, but here is some typical discounted pricing.

1 yrs.- $579 - After 60 days + $75 = $654
2 yrs.- $689 - After 60 days + $150 = $839
3 yrs.- $749 - After 60 days + $225 = $974

They slam it to you after 60 days...

Thanks for the heads up.

Shop around for price as most dealers will honor another dealers lower pricing. Bert's Mega Mall a Spyderlovers sponsor offers great pricing on the BEST warranty.

I just traded in my 2010 RT during Spyderfest as it had a mechanical failure that would have required us to stay in Springfield for several days or to fly home and back again. Since I had the BEST coverage Len was willing to take it on a trade with 59,000 miles. He will fix it under the warranty and sell it with 2 years remaining on the extended coverage. I shudder to think what would have happened if I didn't have the extended warranty. It is pretty doubtful that I would have been able to get a new machine.

SpyderAnn01 's situation is exactly why you should have the extended warranty in my opinion.

:agree: and that is why I want to share my experience with everyone. I have seen posts by others who have had some major problems occur after they were out of the original warranty.

I assume that if I purchase an extended warranty from another dealer, then my home dealer will honor that warranty?

From the BEST pricing given above, that is a whole lot cheaper than my dealer offered. Where do you go to get pricing like that?

Extended warranty works

Howdy. I boought my 2010 RT from an owner near Amarillo. He had purchased a BEST extended warranty from the Amarillo dealer. I have used the extended warranty at two dealers south of Austin. No problem. Both dealers were able to establish the extended warranty simply by pulling up the VIN.

The warranty are sold by how many years. What about per miles? or For example 3 years and 10000 miles which ever comes first. Some car makers have 10 years and 100000 miles because they standby on their car:yes: Where do BRP stand on this?

BRP allows for unlimited mileage. Except for riders who over use dancing chili peppers avatars.

I think I read somewhere that they were not charging the penalty anymore for not purchasing the warranty when new(after 60 days). Anybody know for sure??

Used my BEST today

It was a cake walk..told Americas Motorsport service mgr., Jimmy that I had the BEST warranty..he didn't ask to see my card or anything...major work done paid the $50 deductible..signed receipt.
BUT even tho I also have the roadside assist..granted it is better than a jab in my eye with a sharp stick..but NOT MUCH..IMHO .. Max it pays is $200. Which is about 30 miles. I also have the AAA premium RV. First tow is up to 200 miles plus reimbursement for lodging, meals, etc. (I asked if that included either a tummy tuck or Brazilian wax...nope :banghead: dang it and I really wanted those :roflblack:). Shoot my haul of 165 miles alone covered several years of premium...so AAA , BRP Extended Warranty and Madison dealer, Americas Motorsport get :bowdown: from me.
