• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

extended warranty

Shop around. Your dealership is not likely going to give you the best price on the Warranty. Pitbull and Mega Mall are consistently cheaper. If you want to maintain relations with you Dealer then tell him what your finding warranty pricing elsewhere and see if they will price match (they generally do).

Can I purchase a 2 year extension on my BRP extended warranty?

Your question is a bit confusing. The standard factory warranty on Spyders is 2 years. The BEST warranty allows up to another 3 years. But, the BEST warranty, if I remember correctly, can be purchased in yearly increments. You have to purchase the BEST warranty before the standard factory warranty expires.

Some Spyders get 3 and even 4 year standard warranty during promotional sales events, leaving an additional 1 to 2 years you can purchase on your own.

When I purchased my Spyder I received the standard 2 years, plus 1 year BEST. That's not 3 years standard. If someone is getting 3 or 4 years, they are getting 2 years standard, and 1 or 2 years BEST, during promotions.

Ok Mr. Semantics, however as UtahPete stated its important to know "As long as you don't exceed 5 years total from the date of purchase".

When I bought the 14, there was a 2 year additional BEST promo going on. My 4 years will expire Apr 30 2018. Not sure if I am going to renew for another year--but have several months to figure it out.

What has been said above is all good information.

Would the confusion be that I bought a 2015, not used, in Feb 2016? I wasn't offered a longer extended warranty and I forgot to ask. I forgot all about Berts and Pitbull selling extended warranties. I have about 7 mos and frankly riding a Spyder without a warranty of some sort, on retirement, is like owning life insurance but no health insurance. It just don't make sense.

Called Mega Mall in California about a month ago, because I have about two weeks left with the same situation. Mega Mall quoted me $671, and Pitbull qooted me $750.

I was looking at the other warranty that PitBull is pushing. The Riders Advantage, which they said they would do 5 years on the one for about close to $900. I asked a dealership several weeks ago, "can I buy the other 2 years of Best, and when that runs out, buy the 5 years of Riders Advantage"? And he said yes, that you can go up to 10 years on warranties on a Spyder, 5 years total on Best, and another 5 with someone else.
This is on a 2014 RTL that has had the total of 3 years, ending the end of this month, so have to make quick decision. I think I may do the 2 Best, and then 5 Riders Advantage, if I still have it.

PitBull told me that most of their customers that are buying new bikes are going with the Riders Advantage.

Best warranty is 5 years total. I bought my bike when it had 2 weeks left on the (extended) BEST warranty. The original warranty was 2 years with an extension of one year for the promotional warranty extension. When I bought the bike, I was able to extent the warranty an additional 2 years bringing it up to 5 years total....

That's what Best will let you do, but was told according to Can Am or whoever , you can get coverage for a total of 10 years , combined. Haven't asked any other dealers, but that is what one told me.
