• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Extended warranty after BEST expires

My BEST is just expiring and the dealer said there is no extension or other extended available.

Find this hard to believe. Is there a further extended we can get from someone? Mine is an '09.

You may want to try Zurich. There have been a few members post recently about them and had nothing but good things to say.

Mine expires this Feb., is it worth extending, or buying a new one? :yikes:

Check with your servicing dealer --

-- to see what is accepted. I just went through this. Local dealership here sells and accepts Pinnacle for my 2010 Silver Moon RT. But I'm contemplating a move to North Carolina. So I called the two dealers there. One said that if the x-warranty was not backed by BRP he wouldn't honor it. The other said that since he hadn't ever heard the name Pinnacle he wouldn't honor it either. Ditto for Zurich. So I reversed course and got a B.E.S.T. through Bert's MegaMall in California the day before my factory warranty expired. BTW, BRP has changed the price structure for B.E.S.T. Owners who did not buy B.E.S.T. at the time of purchase formerly had to pay a $75 penalty for each year of x-warranty they wanted. That is no longer true. Price is what the brochure quotes, about $750 for 3 years.

Pinnacle in Shawnee Mission KS 1-888-442-9755
Zurich in Overland Park KS 1-888-835-5063

Best regards,

Exactly why I stick with the BEST warranty as compared to others.

When did you buy your Spyder?

You would have 2 year factory warranty, plus your BEST extended... which would have been 1, 2 or 3 years... for a total of 5 years maximum.

If you only bought 1 or 2 years of BEST, I believe you can still add a 3rd year. Of course you must do this BEFORE the warranty expires.

On my 2008 GS my warranty was good until March of 2013.

B.E.S.T is the way to go. Do not waste time with anything else.
One thing I have heard is that the warranty is applicable nationwide (for US) so you can shop around and buy the cheapest offer that you can get (need not be from your local dealer)

I was told BEST would not extend past the three years by the dealer.

That would be 3 years AFTER the 2 year factory warranty is done. They don't run concurrently..... With the exception of roadside assistance, the BEST doesn't kick in until after the 2 year factory warranty is done.

I don't know. I had the extra year BRP gave me when I bought the bike and they told me it can't be extended. They might be idiots so maybe I need to call them myself.

If you had only the one (or two) year extension, you can purchse more. They allow three years of BEST extension, in addition to the standard warranty, for a total of five years. You need to purchase before your current expiration date, though.

Someone in another thread posted about Bert's and the finance person Bryce. She fixing me up with another two years. As is so often the case the local dealer dropped the ball and lost the money.

When did they do this ?
I bought the BEST in March, just before my factory warranty was going to expire.
I had to pay the additional fee.
I wonder if its retroactve ?

On the 09's BRP added a year to the warranty making it 3 years and then I extended 2 more from Bert's for $639...I think the extra year was for all 09's.
