• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Extended Warranties

That sounds about right, and you can't blame the dealer. Why should they take a chance on if they'll be paid or how long they (the dealer) would have to wait to be paid.
I think the Zurich is taken at most dealers that sell motorcycles of any kind. My dealer sells multiple brands and I don't think there are many around that don't so I'm sure they're use to dealing with Zurich. My dealer also assured me that I would not have to pay up front that they would file all of the paperwork just like a friend of mines Harley dealer does for him.

my spyder dealer told me that they dont take any other warrenties but B.E.S.T to work on a spyder. The difference is with other warrenties you pay up front, all costs and then fight it out with your independent warranty to pay for costs. I dont know if thats true for all Spyder dealerships but that is what he told me.

i don't believe this is true. All extended service contracts require preautherization which means the repair shop must call the warranty company prior to beginning repairs. After a diagnosis has been completed the repair facility calls the warranty company to determine if the failed part is a covered component under the contract. If it is, they pay suggested retail for parts and labor less the customers deductible. Most companies will pay the repair shop by credit card after receiving a signed repair order.

I am pretty sure you can still but an extension. Keep in mind many studies and Consumer Reports show they are usually not worth the $. I bought one on my last bike and never used it....waste of $. Now if you are one in the few that may have issues and if they will cover it....then it is worth the $

I WOULD LIKE TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL QUESTION::popcorn:

I just got my new Spyder 4-2-15. It came with the 24 month warranty and an additional 12 months as a 2014 incentive sale package. The dealer did a piss pore job of explaining anything to me and did not explain the warranty at all. When I got home with the :spyder2: I realized I have nothing to prove I have a 24+12 warranty.....so I called the Dealer. The said that CanAm would send me documentation on the 36 month warranty.

As of today....I have received nothing. :banghead:

Is this correct, that BRP/CanAm will send me my warranty coverage documents ?

Thanks ! :bowdown::thumbup:

on both the stl and the rts i received the the papers for the extended warranties within the first month

I will never again own any non-OEM extended warranty. Been burnt too badly. Stick with the BRP BEST warranty for the Spyder. All dealers honor it and deal directly with BRP for billing. Aftermarket warranty companies disappear at the first quarterly loss and you are stuck with worthless paper. Been there and done that.

I had this happen to me also. Lucky for me I used my VISA card. They refunded my money in full because I hadn't entered the extended phase yet. Like I said, I was lucky. Don't know if credit cards still make guarantees like that. Tom :spyder:

Yes, it takes them a while but you will get a card and a letter in the mail. You can ask your dealer to look it up for you to be sure that you are in the system.

I think you may have this mixed up a little. I'm pretty sure that all BRP dealers honor the BEST warranty, it would be the other ones like Western and Zurich that might not be covered at a BRP dealer. If anyone has ever heard of a Spyder dealer that would not honor the BEST warranty I would ask them to post that here.

Thanks SpyderAnn !

Heh...I also had put a question on your facebook page re; your Summer Business travels to the Pacific NW.

I got a good quote from Berts. A not so good quote from another dealer. Any other suggestions where I should shop for a BRP BEST policy before I purchase?

My selling dealer is a DUD! Big time. :cus: He's about to go under. :yikes: I will be looking for a new dealer. nojoke Tom :spyder:

They are supposed to ................................ any dealer can input your VIN and tell you how long your warranty is.

Wound up needing my rear wheel bearings @ 36k miles had AAA tow it from my house to dealer and lo and behold the extended warranty RPMOne they swore by is covering the parts and labor somewhere around $700 all I have to pay is the 'extra' labor to put my belt on while they're in there. Sometime next week they'll be done with it. 2 years left on warranty I'd like to see if I can get 100k without any major problems. Maybe I'll 're-up the warranty.

Check with Pitbull Power Sports

I did and they are quoting list price, not what I was looking for. Since I bought the bike there I had desired to buy the warranty through them as well. But they are not even close.

I am getting bids from iMotorsports, another sponsor here and Pioneer Motorsport since I have bought parts there at fair pricing.

I have a third party warranty and had no problems with any dealers I had taken my Spyder to. The last repair for my SE5 shifting that cost almost $2,000, they paid the bill in full and in a timely manner. The only problem was getting parts, my SPYDER sat for two months waiting for parts.

Emailed you a quote. Hope you like it:joke:

Bought my BEST from Ricylen/Pitbull Powersports

Rickylen at SF a couple years back told me it is hard to find a BRP dealer let alone one that has certified mechanics that honors BRP warranties let alone the extended. His shop will honor all. The Western Service Extended Warranty is honored by many bike shops but how many bike shops works on a Spyder? Catch 22

I purchased the BEST for my '10 from Bert's Mega Mall...when I puchased '14 I got the extended BEST from Pitbull...same price as Bert's. I am NOT mechanical...and the extended warranty save me mega bucks on my '10. For me I would not be without the BEST extended warranty and have never found a dealer that would not accept. I feel confident in saying that Len at Pitbull encourages buyers to get the extended warranty.
