Extended Warranties

Desert Spyder

One of my members asked if could buy an extended warranty for his bike after he already had purchased the bike. I don't have an answer. Can someone help?

You can get the Best warranty as long as the bike is still under warranty. I have been told Bert's Mega Mall is the place to buy it.

BRP BEST warranty

Yes as long it has some warranty left on it, or still under warranty you can buy the extended warranty (the BRP best warranty that is). Make sure you get the BRP Best warranty cause a lot of other warranties BRP want cover or honor the repair. nojoke

Yes as people said above you can.

As also suggested, Bert's does have one of the best prices for the BEST extended warranty.

Mine runs out Jan 2016. I wish I could buy more but I talked to Bert's and I had the longest allowed already. :(

Anyone have a good contact email at Bert's for the warranty purchase?

I need to get pricing from them and Pitbull.

Same here with 2 month remaining on the original warranty. Bert's Mega Mall had everyone else beat.

I have a 2012 rts got mine with Zurich 5 extra years after my warranty runs out so I am covered till 2019 and it is transferable ,I already have 43000 miles. There are others who have it, I was told it is good deal.

I am pretty sure you can still but an extension. Keep in mind many studies and Consumer Reports show they are usually not worth the $. I bought one on my last bike and never used it....waste of $. Now if you are one in the few that may have issues and if they will cover it....then it is worth the $

I WOULD LIKE TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL QUESTION::popcorn:

I just got my new Spyder 4-2-15. It came with the 24 month warranty and an additional 12 months as a 2014 incentive sale package. The dealer did a piss pore job of explaining anything to me and did not explain the warranty at all. When I got home with the :spyder2: I realized I have nothing to prove I have a 24+12 warranty.....so I called the Dealer. The said that CanAm would send me documentation on the 36 month warranty.

As of today....I have received nothing. :banghead:

Is this correct, that BRP/CanAm will send me my warranty coverage documents ?

Thanks ! :bowdown::thumbup:

When I bought my 2011 RTS used in June 2013, the original owner had already bought the BEST warranty at the max duration allowed. Alas in June 2013 when I bought it, it had all of 450 miles on it! Thus there went 2 years of the extended doing nothing but sitting. But I get the benefit of getting a used Spyder that was basically new with the BEST warranty transferred to me when I bought it :)

Since then I hit 14K as of about 2 weeks ago. Wish I could have piled on a few more miles to be honest and I do commute to work every day with it. Bottom line my warranty ends Jan 2016. :(

But it was a good thing! My Spyder has not seen a dealer since the 600 mile service and in my opinion should not need to if you can do your own general maintenance.
Alas, I am SOOOOOOO glad I had the extended. When I went to do my 14K service... sure enough a warranty issue popped up!

See this post for the issue I ran into WHICH most people not doing their own maintenance would never even know!

http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...ervice-and-OOOOPS!-I-don-t-think-this-is-good!

Anyway, I hate to say it but I think the extended warranty is a MUST BUY for as long as you can get it for! Just a little thing like a set screw could cost you A LOT without it... :(

That warranty repair for the simple set screw would have cost me $1,000 roughly to fix... But it was covered by the extended.

Make sure you shop around first. Bert’s was not the best price for me. And My Spyder Dealership was the highest. When I asked my Dealer, why he was so much higher then everyone else, he said he would match any price. I ended up getting through the dealership at the lowest price quote. At least I know that there will not be a question if they will except the warranty

Rickylen at SF a couple years back told me it is hard to find a BRP dealer let alone one that has certified mechanics that honors BRP warranties let alone the extended. His shop will honor all. The Western Service Extended Warranty is honored by many bike shops but how many bike shops works on a Spyder? Catch 22

I have the Zurich also. My dealer sold it to me. The Zurich is for 5 years, no deductible and is good at all dealers. I realize that for most things I want a Can Am dealer to do the work but if I'm off traveling and something happens say to a wheel bearing I'll take any dealer that is able to fix it if there is not a Can Am dealer close. Dealer said he thought Zurich was a little easier to work with. Paid $850 for it which I thought was a great deal for 5 additional years.

I bought my 2014RTS-SE6 on July 30th ,2014 and I got my B.E.S.T Protection ( BRP Extended Service Terms with Vehicle Description& Serial #) Dated on letter Sept. 11, 2014.

my spyder dealer told me that they dont take any other warrenties but B.E.S.T to work on a spyder. The difference is with other warrenties you pay up front, all costs and then fight it out with your independent warranty to pay for costs. I dont know if thats true for all Spyder dealerships but that is what he told me.

That sounds about right, and you can't blame the dealer. Why should they take a chance on if they'll be paid or how long they (the dealer) would have to wait to be paid.

Thank you for the information you gave me i bought mine at your dealer over the phone i is a good deal, have you used it yet. I paid the same price for 5 years.

Yes, it takes them a while but you will get a card and a letter in the mail. You can ask your dealer to look it up for you to be sure that you are in the system.

I think you may have this mixed up a little. I'm pretty sure that all BRP dealers honor the BEST warranty, it would be the other ones like Western and Zurich that might not be covered at a BRP dealer. If anyone has ever heard of a Spyder dealer that would not honor the BEST warranty I would ask them to post that here.
