• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Extended warranity or not????

I'm just curious as to how many people purchased extended warranity coverage when the bought their new Spyders. As a first time buyer of a Spyder back in 2013, not knowing the realibilty of the manufacture, I went ahead and purchased the extra warranity. I haven't had one moments trouble with my 2012 RTS and was hoping that I didn't waste that money. Any thoughts??

I have a 2011 RS-S SE5 and I have a extended warranty, I used last year and the bill was about $2,000. It paid for it self. You didn't waste your money IMO.

Faith and ability...

It is a tough desision. Affordability was the deciding factor here but faith in the machine and having the ability to do my own work weighed in heavily. If your not mechanically inclined and new at this mode of transportation it is a good idea. I always waited till the factory warranty was about to run out when I did buy it for other things. It's an expensive machine..play it safe...

Not only is it great to have when an otherwise costly repair happens but it is also a selling feature. The extended warranty paid for itself on my 2010 RT.

I just bought one..

I've got a 12 RTL and didn't get the warranty when I bought it. I very recently had a rattle develop somewhere in the exhaust system and ended up having the Cat-converter replaced.... but my 2 year MFG warranty expired this month...I got lucky! If I had to pay out of pocket, I may have just let it slide and live with it rattling.
So I just acquired an extended "BEST" warranty. With this beautiful machine, 1 moderate repair could easily have it pay for itself.... I'd rather have that peace of mind.

I had the max warranty on my 2009 RS, my 2010 RT, and my 2014 RT.. I just consider it insurance, and hope I never need it.
