• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Expensive add on

I just completed the latest add on to my RT. I like chrome and my Spyder has lots of it.

For some time I have wanted chrome handlebars but the expense was just too high. Finally for my upcoming birthday, I bit the bullet and bought them. The card says they are from my wife but I put the bug in her head.

I thought about the cheaper plastic covers but decided my Spyder was worth the real deal in metal. At $310 through Can Am they are pricey but I found a vendor through Amazon that cut that price down to $289 and then using some credit card points got them down under $150.

When they arrived, I reviewed the installation instructions and knew right away this wasn't a job for me. In fact, the first line on the instructions says something along the lines of...."if you aren't sure of your ability to install this item, we'd suggest a trip to the dealer." Off to the dealer it went and the labor bill was high... it took three hours to install as they basically had to tear the front end off the machine.

But they are installed and I love them. I took three photos in bright sunlight to gauge the kind of reflection they will cause. As you can see from the different angles the tach and speedo plus my other gauges do get some reflection but it isn't terrible and is something I can live with.... I just like chrome.

 I don't like chrome...
I love it!! :D
They look fan-dang-tastic! :2thumbs:

Chrome look great, glad you got what you wanted. It will make you a happy camper in the long run. A question: What is the shield you have on your GPS & where did you get it? Thanks!

Congratulations..!!

shinny pretty things come to those that wait...looks very nice...if we ever ryde together I'll be the one in the back away from the glare..!! :roflblack::roflblack:

It looks like in your pictures that it makes reading the gauges even harder now to read. For me its already hard to see everything in this area. I do love chrome also but think I'll keep mine to the sides of the bike. Just my opinion. I do like the white area around your gauges though and the replacement round gauges. Looks sharp.

went there and they asked if we had touratech v1 or v2 mount. would like to order but do not know which mount it is ?:helpsmilie:

I have no clue. I bought it for my old Garmin mounted on my 2010 RT and have used it on my 2011 and now my 2012. It fit all of them.
