I just completed the latest add on to my RT. I like chrome and my Spyder has lots of it.
For some time I have wanted chrome handlebars but the expense was just too high. Finally for my upcoming birthday, I bit the bullet and bought them. The card says they are from my wife but I put the bug in her head.
I thought about the cheaper plastic covers but decided my Spyder was worth the real deal in metal. At $310 through Can Am they are pricey but I found a vendor through Amazon that cut that price down to $289 and then using some credit card points got them down under $150.
When they arrived, I reviewed the installation instructions and knew right away this wasn't a job for me. In fact, the first line on the instructions says something along the lines of...."if you aren't sure of your ability to install this item, we'd suggest a trip to the dealer." Off to the dealer it went and the labor bill was high... it took three hours to install as they basically had to tear the front end off the machine.
But they are installed and I love them. I took three photos in bright sunlight to gauge the kind of reflection they will cause. As you can see from the different angles the tach and speedo plus my other gauges do get some reflection but it isn't terrible and is something I can live with.... I just like chrome.
