• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Exhaust gasket leak

I got my exhaust gaskets changed today and it made a good difference in the way my Spyder was running, not to mention that it is now quiet like a stock pipe should be instead of sounding like a baby Hindle. :D

:nopic: :dontknow: ??
I didn't have my camera to take pictures of the one, very bad, gasket and I couldn't take it with me to get a photo as they are supposed to send them back to BRP. That one gasket was basically burnt right in half. Instead of looking like a circle, it was a cee. No wonder I had so much heat up on my right panel by my seat. A lot of exhaust was pouring out of that joint. Also, I was getting quite a bit of backfiring and that is completely gone now. Hopefully BRP has the gasket material and construction right and the gaskets last.

Sounds like it looked quite a bit like mine. I replaced mine myself last week.

So I blew the gasket out hard enough to lodge it into the upper frame. Sounds like HD so sad-----anyway I contact Ted's in Alton ILL.
They contact BRP and order all new replacements parts. Seems there is concern that damage could occur in replacing just one gasket. It will take a few days to arrive then call to check on the parts and make an appointment.
The big question may I still ride????
"YES"
Oh OK so its not so bad being loud as long as I can still ride.
Good service is not hard to find.

Is there more than just the one gasket where the muffler 90% & header clamp together? :dontknow: Because I have a rattling in the exhaust pipes where they clamp together. I tightened the bolts till I was afraid they would break. It helped a little bit for a little while then back to the same. The dealer also tried tightening them. When you wiggle the pipes you get a movement at the joints where the clamps & springs are. So is there a gasket at that point? :dontknow: This makes the old Spyder sound tinny.

Yep there is a gasket at all those joints. When the service guy replaced my bad gasket, he also replaced the other ones (3 total) just in case they were on their way out.
