• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Evoluzione Sway Bar

BLACK WIDOW

New member
I just completed the installation of the Evoluzion Performance Sway Bar; a little bigger job than what I thought. Haven't had it out enough for a real test but it does feel more solid in the curves. I think it'll be a keeper.

Funny you brought this up today, as I just got mine at the post office 2 hours ago.I'm going to wait till the spring before the install.I think i'll ride it stock then change it so I compare the ride[roads been salted so I put it away].I havent heard anyone say it didnt improve handling.:2thumbs: I have been wanting one for a while but didnt want to pay full price with shipping{UPS fees are steep to Canada} and exchange from Evoluzione and found a listing on Ebay with a best offer option and USPS .Figure I saved a Hun all things being equal:ohyea:.

sway bar from Kewl metals

I installed mine back in late 08 and have been very happy with it. I rode the twisted sister in Bandera 2 different weekends, one stock and one with the sway bar. so much better ride. I purchased mine through Kewl Metals and had Matt powder coat it black for me to match my Phantom.

Are you going to be able to go on a decent ride and check out the difference soon? I have also been considering this as one of my next mods.

:congrats:

You're going to love it. Makes the Spyder a completely different machine.

I remember one owner some time back saying that he could not tell the difference. Unbelieveable!

You'll be telling us how much you love it as soon as you get a chance to ride.

I know that I had to learn my Spyder all over again in the "Riding Hard in the Twisties" category. I was not sure how far I could push it. It felt like it was on rails but I know how that can go. Great until you come off!

But instead of the dreaded "Sudden High Side" that I was wondering about as I dove into a turn much faster than ever before, I kept pushing a little more until I actually got some slight traction loss. This is MUCH better! Easy to feel and easy to control/correct.

Anyway, hope you love yours as much as I do mine.

Yes, as soon as the weather here in Oklahoma warms up a bit i'll be able to really see how much difference it makes. I can already tell some difference in the corners just the little I have actually got to ride it.
I think from my limited experience with it and the reports I have read from many who have it, should be a good option. Especially if you carry a passenger. nojoke

Thanks for the added information and review Ron, that just moved one of these a little further up my list.

That sounds good to me. I actually haven't heard anything negative about the product. Don't know why I waited so long to buy one just kept buying other doo-dads I guess.:D

this mod is almost a must if you like the twisties or just like to ryde.
my spyder is back to completely stock now and without the anti sway bar, my wheel lifts off the ground so much when i take corners hard.

:2thumbs:If you ride two-up at all ,this is a must have mod ! And if you like fast in the twisties this is also a must have !

It is so solid in the corners, no roll. Just like it was on a rail.

Why did you put it back to stock?

I've had the sway bar for a year now and have loved it! I can keep up with my hubby on his beemer in the twisties now. 2 weeks ago I rode a Spyder without one and was amazed at how much less stable it felt in turns. It is a must have for me for sure.

After Spyders in the Smokies this year, I added the sway bar to my Christmas list! I had a hard time keeping up with Firefly on some of the twisties :( (he has the sway bar...and more power adders than I have!).

Just wondered why the manufactures site gives you the model option.
SM5 or SE5.:dontknow:

Good question. Call Ken tomorrow to find out and then let us know. To my knowledge, the front suspension is the same.

.

I just checked BRP Parts Online and the OEM sway bars for all 2008 and 2009 SEs and SMs are the same part number... 505071708.

Maybe color is the choice... early ones (including mine) were red... later bars were black.

:yikes:
