• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I received the F1 windshield a couple of days ago and bolted it on.
It replaces my CalCi for the winter. And maybe for ever.
Fit & finish:
It fit right on with no hassle. I used my CalSi bolts.
The finish is real good. The fairing is jet black (opaque).
The rise up shield on mine is clear. There is a bit of distortion evident in the clear shield. The mechanism is aluminum with two knobs that you adjust by turning to loosen or tighten. Then you just slide the shield up or down.
Ride:
I took it out on the highway yesterday 53º purposely wearing my shorty helmet with sunglasses so I could feel the wind.I cruised at 70 mph for the test. I started with it down and brought the clear shield up till the wind was blowing just across the top of the helmet. I was looking straight ahead about 3" above the shield. There was little to no wind buffeting of my head. And even at the 53º temperature my face was comfortable with very little wind hitting it. I also noticed that there was NO wind hitting my hands and was also quite a bit less than with the CalCi on the tops of my legs.
Over All:
I am quite pleased with this. The black fairing IMHO looks really well on the bike. And is the reason I went with the clear upper shield so as not to detract from it.
The service was top notch. It took 10 days to get it from the date I placed my order. And I had called and changed my order from smoke to clear on the top shield, within that time, also.
This shield is High Quality - solid and works really well.

I took these a couple of hours ago to sort of illustrate the screen.

Looking good. I have the same windshield with the light smoke top and I really like it. Its great for riding in those 30 degree temps. :2thumbs:

Thanks for posting the pics, this is the first non-BRP sheild that I like the looks of. This will be going on my soon-yet-to-be-ordered-until-the-wife-says-I-can Spyder. ;)

Arachnid,
Looks like in your pic that your clear sliding protion has just a little bit of outward curl to it. Is that so? Mine has no bend at all at the moment, and I may try to "fine tune it" as Marcel says if I happen to keep it. Right now I am thinking of requesting a swap for the standard Evolution III so I can "see through" the lower portion of the shield for better reference.

Yes, Rory the clear shield has a outward facing curl I just figured they all did.

Pat, I am 5' 10" tall with a 31" inseam. I slouch a bit when riding. About like in the picture.

I have been out with it in 40 some degree weather now and I have noticed that there is some rap around at higher speeds kinda comes up your back.
This I didn't have as much of with the CalSi shield. But it is not too bad and will feel good when its hot.
