• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So will this work through the radio on the RT just the same?

How much for good bluetooth equip for the helmet too? Thanks!

Hmmmm

So to be clear. This would allow full control of the spyder radio as usual, but sound would go through helmet speakers.

I have Sena Smh10 mow. I've connected both iPhone and garmin zumo to the helmet. I think I can do three connections at once but need to check. Or connect phone to zumo first.

Gets confusing. I could not play my iPhone music into my helmet if I connected to zumo first. I think.

This system would be nice. I'll have to add to my list of purchases.

Nice !!

Killer deal for the RT guys...should be snapping them up especially with the easy installation...:2thumbs:

What this does is convert your radio to become bluetooth so you can pair it
to your bluetooth head set, such as the SENA SMH10 or other when paired
your music or whatever goes to your helmet, all you have to do is turn down
the volumn control onthe bikes radio or go to the settings on the bike and do it there
but it is way easier to simply turn the volumn down on the radio. you use the volumn
control on the headset.

PS just go to my website and look at the video on how to install it...

Dave, I am going to do a video possibly this weekend on what the SM10 and cable gives you and what it doesn't.

Seems there are a lot of questions about this so time to clear it up.

In fact I plan to do a complete audio system 101 video series for the RT's audio system. Just seems there are many many questions about the system in general.

Stay tuned.

Can't wait! I watched install video and looks pretty easy.

One other question. After this is setup, can you ever still hear sound from the speakers? Every now and then that would be nice.

There is nothing on the Radio I want to hear!:banghead::banghead:

All I want is to intercom with my wife on the back. Answer and listen to my phone. Listen to gps direction when on the road. Also the wife would like to use the volume controls on the passenger hand grip. I like the speakers on the spyder if they don't like what we listen to then they can roll up their windows. Lol. If it will allow me to listen to pandora through the bike speakers it would be a plus.
Can it do this?

Yes in fact when you use this you will want to turn down your speakers or you will hear a slight delay like an echo.

Can it do this?

So some answers here.

1) The volume controls for the passenger ONLY work with the wired headset setup which means you have to have the CB to have BRP's wired headset setup. So those volume controls will never work.

2) GPS. If this is the BRP ZUMO GPS then it is wired to come out of the RT's speakers. The SM10 will enable this automatically. But another thing you can do is bind your BT headsets directly to the GPS. However, you can only bind one headset to the GPS so your wife will not be able to hear the GPS when setup this way. With the SM10, your wife will also hear the GPS as the SM10 supports binding to two headsets.

3) For the phone, you simply bind your phone to your headset. No SM10 is needed for this.

4) As for Pandora and music from your phone. This is a little more complicated depending on who you want to do it.
Once again if you bind your phone to your headset you can hear anything your phone is playing like Pandora. But like the GPS you can only bind one headset to a phone. Thus your wife cannot hear Pandora from your phone. But if you plug your phone into the iPod or MP3 connector in the trunk, then Pandora will come out your speakers and if you have the SM10, both of you will hear it.
However, this is where it gets complicated. When you bind your phone to your headset, now the MP3/iPod connector wont work! The BT headset takes priority! Thus you loose your phone call capability as well. This is why I recommend getting a cheap iPod as a dedicated music player. BUT this now wont help with Pandora and iPods are wifi only. But I found another trick :)
On your phone turn on personal hotspot. Now connect the dedicated iPod to via wifi to the person hotspot. Now you can play Pandora.
Only downfall is since the iPod is in the trunk, you cannot access the screen to control Pandora. So basically you have to start it playing and leave it.

I will discuss all this in my video.

YES... it sends the audio to your helmet via bluetooth but the radio still plays through the speakers
if you don't want the general public to hear what you are listening to just turn the volume down on the bike radio.
OR there are settings on the bike to do it but it is much easier to just kill the volume on the bike

Be aware that you will have to turn this off and on manually. I have one in the frunk, and would often forget to turn it off. It kills the battery, and then you have to wait a while for it to charge up before you can turn it on again.
