• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ever wonder what happened to her?

I kind of wondered what happened to her...
She did a pretty decent job on-camera; she often took those jobs where she'd be flying right into a hurricane!
I wish her well, and I hope that she gets a fair hearing...

It is illegal to fire someone because they have to be absent from their job to serve in the National Guard.

The hard part is to prove that was the "real" reason the firing happened. No reflection on the fired person meant here--but that is the way the courts and lawyers work.

Hope she can get it resolved if she wants her job back.

I worked for the federal gov't and saw many examples of contractors who would give reservists jobs after they were deployed but they were not the same. They were lower level and paid less. All the law required was that they gave them a job. It was a real shame. We had one guy who was a shift supervisor who returned as a worker with no seniority under the folks he supervised at almost a 40% reduction in pay.

It's NBC. Look what they did to Ann Curry. They need to get rid of Matt Lauer. Our local station has a weatherman who was a LTCol in the USAFR. He served a tour in Afghanistan. He still had his job when he came back. He has since retired from USAFR.
