There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. ESI Triple Play Question (stock lights?)

Hi guys. Quick question on the ESI Triple Play Light kit for the RS:

Does this setup work with the stock non-LED lights? :dontknow:

Or

Does the LED lights that come with the kit have to be installed from day one to function (to get the signal lights to flash 4 times when braking and have all 4 lights on as running lights)?

Can the setup work with all the stock signal lights and stock rear brake lights, or does the LEDs in the kit absolutely have to be installed for the setup to work?:dontknow:

Thanks.

I,m sure ESI will answer!

I helped musicarcade install one of these units on his Spyder. I am not sure if you must use the LED lights that come with it or not, but I would recommend you do. The primary reason is the LED bulbs are red versus your normal amber turn signal lights. When you install the Triple Play, the turn signals act as rear running lights, and brake lights, just like your normal tail lights. Red is the color most associated with those types of actions, and it actually looks pretty good having them all on at the same time as well.

I hope this helps you some Dean.

Dean, i have the triple play on mine, they are awesome, the red pucks for the rear signals are a must in my eyes, very easy to install, if you already have the kit why not install them ? Have you considered the centre mount brake lamp as well ? This also is awesome.:2thumbs:

I can't answer your question, but if you order, try and get them to ship USPS. They use UPS and the extra charges is ridiculous. For the front and rear brightsides, dayrunners were $120.00 in duties. USPS would of been $0. We have another 2 bikes to do but won't be ordering from them anymore. To do the whole RT is around $400.00 in duties.

Michael, thanks, it does, but I have another question for you, if you don't mind :opps::
The lights that come with the Triple Play kit are LEDs to replace the SIGNAL LIGHTS. If so, are the stock BRAKE lights (non-LED) required to be upgraded with LEDs or can the BRAKE lights remain as non-LED when using this Triple Play Kit?

Thanks for your note!! I do not have the kit, but may purchase.

Nice tip! I've been there before with UPS shipping from US into Canada. If I order I will request USPS. In the past I've found some companies will not change their shipper and that is a pain for us in Canada.

Thank you for the feedback, guys!

I did a search but couldn't find any detailed photos of the setup actually installed on the RS ie: where the model is placed or zip tied under the rear splash panel, or if things need to be soldered, etc...

Appreciate your replies and my questions.
THANK YOU.
Dean

You can use the triple play with stock brake light as I have done but because changing the stock brake light bulb was such a pain in the donkey I have since went with the LEDs . I know you have done a mod to make changing the stock bulb easier .

Some of the info here is correct some is not.

Give us a call and we can get you the correct information no problem.

But in a nut shell you must run the red pucks in the turn signals to be legal and also to not ruin the housings as well.

The stock incadesants run all the time will make too much heat for such a small housing and will melt the reflector and housing! :yikes:

We have also finally been able to get the USPS to start doing package pick ups for us at our shop, and now are able to ship packages to Canada much, much cheaper.

Thanks. This is a huge help for us up north. Is this just through ESI, or is Custom Dynamics onboard with this also?

Don't know about their shipping policy to Canada?

But being ESI is a sponsor here on Spyderlovers which helps make this board possible, why would you ask about buying the same exact parts from somebody else here on this board and in this thread? :dontknow:

I was under the assumption it was all the same pie. I tried ESI at first and there wasn't a cart for shipping to Canada. So I went to CD.

No cart to Canada because even with USPS rates to different parts are way different.

Your post about not paying duties with USPS is not quite true. I work for Canada Post and if the CBSA checks your package you might have to pay taxs, But you do have a better chance using this service rather then using UPS FEDEX etc.

I do understand it, but 9 times out of ten it's good with USPS. I've never had a broker fee though. Just taxes.

ESI or CD same price but look who's answering your questions just as fast as you post them. I'm sure if they don't have what you want they'll point you in the right direction.
