• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ESI HID install -GS/RS

Half way thru the install. I am calling it quits till tomorrow morning. Thanks again for the good instructions. One question though. Does the blue stripe on the new bulb go on the top or bottom once they are installed, or does it matter?

Finished it up and rolled the Spyder outside. Man are these things bright

What about this Blue Stripe; top or bottom- don't matter???? Anybody know?

It's been so long ago that I don't remember a blue stripe on the bulb. :dontknow: The bulb is supposed to fit in the Spyder bulb holder a certain way (I think lamonster and I sort of detailed that above and it's also stated in the NMN instructions) and the bulb holder fits in the headlight housing a certain way. If the blue stripe coincides with the positioning tab on the metal bulb holder, I think that is on top when properly installed. I would check for you but it was such a pain to get the HID bulbs and bulb holder into the headlight housing that I won't be taking it back apart until I have to. :D Whatever the orientation of the bulb holder is when you start taking the stock bulbs out, be sure to put it back in the same way.

So i decided not only to add the fogs but also upgrade to the HID 8000 at the same time for both headlights and fog lights !!!:shocked:

What a mission !

I used both of the guidelines provided here in the forum

I found myself back and forth with the Fog lights install and the HID install...

 :2thumbs:  :2thumbs:  :2thumbs:  :2thumbs:  :2thumbs:

Wow what a great write up. GREAT WORK !!!!!

At the end of the day and the end of the 12 pack... i was done, time to test... the headlights worked

time to test the fog lights..... and what the F:cus:k... :dontknow::sour::helpsmilie: then i took a deep breath and was like :gaah::gaah: ... I went back to the HID fog box from no magic neon and realized that i had to change the freaking fuse !!!!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: changed the fuse to 15 amps and :yes::clap::2thumbs: worked !!!!!

Once again, great write up!!!

Im still working on the bike and now i have to change the swing arm... so, where is the write up for that? :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Just out of curiosity. Do you have a radio and if so did they interfere with it? Have read a couple of places where folks have installed the HID and it messed up their radio reception.

ESI HID fog light install

I read over this post for hints. My question is this: When installing the HID fog lights, do I need to reuse the clip like Lamont did in the headlight install? It looks like the bulbs already have the proper black plastic clip built in and it seems to fit but not turn. I dont want to force or break anything. Am I just not pushing hard enough?

Should just twist right in if you have the right bulbs.

Fog light harness

LaMonster,

For the No Magic Neon HID kit are we talking $340+ for a couple of light bulbs and a couple of ballasts?

Will the fog light harness that comes with the BRP kit be okay to use with the No Magic HID light bulbs?

I just finished the NMN hid conversion.

Absolutely remove the top dash. I don't see it possible otherwise unless you have very skinny and very strong hands. And even if you do, you will probably cut yourself on the sharp plastic parts.

The bulbs look good. Do yourself another favor and purchase some nice big zip ties, the ones that come with the lights are too small for strapping to the machine.

Nice product though. I can see why it costs what it costs.

I just finish installing the HID xtreme kit on my Spyder. Took me some four hours, I had to figure out a few things and I took my time to get it right.
I want to thank the Forum and everyone that posted here for without their messages and pictures, I probably would not be able to this job by myself.
Cheers.

I know this thread is old but when I try to go to this website I get a warning that the site contains malware - so I did not continue to the site.
