• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Epic Fail : 2020 RTL Design Failure

After about 8 weeks and 2000 miles I've found a serious issue with the design of the 2020 RTL. At least the ones in Anthracite Gray.

It seems that the Force Shield designed to keep dirt and bugs off the Spyder has completely failed. It has NO FUNCTIONALITY whatever.
This has become especially apparent when riding on some roads that have puddles in them.
I'm now forced to MANUALLY clean the bike.
Is anybody else having this problem ??

You had me going there for a bit ThreeWheels.:bowdown:

I agree about that washing thing. In AK, I used to do it about once a year. We called it the "Alaska grunge" look. I have washed my new 2019 F3 once so far since I got it (12/2019). It's due again...the dilemma...should I wash it, or should I trade it off? :roflblack:

Isn't the person on the back seat supposed to wash and wax the bike in exchange for a wonderful riding experience?

Thanks for that excellent tip.

Unfortunately, I live alone and don't have anyone to to help, so I've got to do it myself.

Maybe the blank switch on the panel is supposed to control the force field.................

Now just wait a minute, I know I’m new to these Spyder, but someone told me all I had to do is get on & enjoy, boy was I duped, with all the mod’s to be made now U’re telling me I’m gonna have to wash it, man the fun just keeps coming... seriously, enjoy every minute of it, a real LUV affair...........

This new Force Shield you speak of, do you think BRP with offer it as an upgrade on the older models when they get the bugs worked out? :2thumbs:

Pure misery. Send me your address and I’ll take it off your hands! I’m here to help! Joe

I will have to check with my shop they said they would take care of everything under warranty I would think that would included weekly washing and detailing

I think you didn't get the addendum to the owner's manual. You are supposed to ride it in the rain. This is referred to as "free bike wash day". The faster you go, the greater the scrubbing action. Please DO NOT try to explain this to any of your "Harley Goon" friends. The blank stare you get in return is not worth it. If you want exceptional results, spritz a little soap water on the front end before you ride. You'll be amazed.

If there hasn't been any rain, and you live in farm country with large corn, sod or soybean fields near the road, run it through the country car wash a few times:
