• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Entire color change

I have a 2013 Rt-S in yellow. It's the color I originally wanted when I first saw the RT. It's great for visibility but frankly, I'm tired of it.

Has anyone taken their Spyder to an auto body shop for a complete color change? How much was it? Should I trust a car shop to take care of my Tupperware? I just want a solid color...not a design. Maybe a high metallic red.

I don't even know where to start. I live in Picayune, MS and there's not too many auto-body shops around here.

Tired of yellow??? :lecturef_smilie:

:roflblack:

How about a wrap in a solid color? That may be way less expensive than repainting?

take a number count of the parts to be painted, than take a piece of the tupperware with you and shop around for a price. it will vary from shop to shop, but i am betting close to 2 k for prep and painting

I have done it

I had my ST1100 Honda done at MAACO I took them all the plastic not the bike
and it turned out fantastic, I would NOT take the entire scooter there just the
body parts and fenders....
Check them out

I asked the vendor here about an entire body wrap and he said it would be quite a job. That being said, he was great...answered my email quickly and if I ever want graphics for my bike, I'll go through them.

A Spyder rider in Louisiana had his RT custom painted to a sort of cherry red or what not. Bike looks awesome and I think he paid 5k for the whole bike. Here is a pic of his.

That's gorgeous!!!

But at $5k... Circuit Yellow is starting to grow on me again. :)

I would trade it for a 2014 in the collar you want for about 8 or 10 thousand. That way you would have the best of both worlds.

Except the 2014 RT-S doesn't come in red...and I'd want a custom color anyway.

That...and (no offense to those who have ordered) but judging by BRPs track record, the 2014s will have their own problems. I don't get the "hot foot" that so many people complain about so that "fix" doesn't do anything for me. I'm sure it's a great engine...but so is the Rotax twin. Better gas milage? That's nice...but I knew what I was getting into when I bought it and besides...stopping at a gas station = break/leg stretching.
Don't get me wrong, I love seeing the "improvements" and recognize that's how companies grow. But again, BRP is known for letting their paying customers do all the "field test".
My bet would be the major fixes and improvements will come on the 2015 models.

Five thousand bucks for a paint job of that caliber is a relative bargain... :2thumbs:
that bike is beyond gorgeous!! :firstplace:

I would think you could replace every body panel from BRP for less then 5K and couple pick what ever OEM color you would want.

Have you thought..!!

of painting parts or graphics and not all one color..? I know if you pull all the parts and do the reassembly you will save a lot. You could do some wrapping then remove it and paint later. Guess the best is to drive over to shops available and ask..how much to paint this..?? good luck..!!

A good paint job is a

Don't forget Guys, that a good to excellent paint job does not get done overnight like a Macco or Fact-O-Bake job. Additionally paint and materials are very expansive too!!
