• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Enough is ENOUGH

I do believe that most that have had engine failures were fairly serious riders with a decent amount of miles on them. I think Terri told me she had 12,000 or 15,000 miles---- something like that.

I've had mine 2 summers now and am around 14,000 miles.

I would safely say that 99% of us out here ride more than we whine - except in the winter--- we whine about not being able to ride.:joke:

Oh thats right some of you can insult the dealers and techs but nobody can take a shot back. Sorry my bad i will play better next time.

not to flame a war. But im in the IT field and i constantly constantly hear people go " oh i had this dumb guy that thought he could fix computers try to fix this and he couldnt ". I dont find myself getting offended, because i know that i can get the job done, in a timely manner. Yes sometimes i do have to order parts and i run into issues, this get dealyed but i dont go bashing my customer because they didnt like one tech. i took the job into my own hands and made it right. Why dont you try putting your dealership name on here and say hey if you want good service come here we can help you out. instead being negative and giving us consumers an even worse experience.... we come on here to discuss a related issue.... the spyder wether its good or bad this is a great place for product feedback which could help things out alot.

spedotymec is the tech at St. Boni Motorsport where we initially purchased our spyder here in MN and had the very, very bad experiences with the owner and service dept. after the sale, and why St. Boni Motorsport service dept had been turned into the BBB 3-5- times. We see the sarcasm and poor attitude towards customers and other spyder owners had not changed. We did change dealerships & service depts and are happy with the change. There are problems with the spyders that need to be worked out without also dealing with with poor attitudes. spedotymec seems to enjoy arguing with all of us each time he prints on this forum. Anyway to ban from the forum? Thanks. Enough is Enough!

I wonder if he moved to Canada or he's just trying to fake us out by posting his location as Canada. :sour:

1" in riser

Its not th e installation of the riser, its removing (mostly) the bolts that hold the cover on, and on a side note I can recognize that working on these bikes IS difficult. Just lubing the front chasis can be very difficult especially if you dont want to remove the tire. Still two weeks for scheduled maintenance that is a crock... Oh and by the way I RIDE and WRENCH mine (when at all possible):2thumbs:

"hope the work is done properly, suck it up and move on"...wow now you know why i wont ever let a "tech" work on my bike unless I cant!

UPDATE

Picked up the bike this afternoon and trailered it home. Hooked up my mods that they didn't hook back up (talon alarm, cruise control). Took it out for a spin and I have an occasional off Idle miss. Clears up at higher rpm's. Its probably a bad plug. I'll check it in the morning. I'm tired. I saw on the work order that they changed the oil but not the filter:shocked:.
I'll give it a good going over in the morning. I give up.

Don't blame you for being frustrated. I'd highly recommend you not run it until you change the oil filter. I can't believe any mechanic would be ignorant enough not to do so after a blown engine. Hope your miss problem is a plug, to make it easy on you. I'd complain to Carlo in writing, just to go on record about the quality of the repair.
